Does anyone know what’s actually happening in this class, I constantly feel lost and I feel she never teaches us anything that’s relevant of connected to any other material in the course. This midterm is going to be a bloodbath for me and my study group atp.

I'm planning to apply to UBC for a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and I'm trying to decide whether I should prefer the Vancouver campus or Okanagan campus.

I'm particularly interested in hearing from current students, graduates, or people who have experience with both campuses, especially CS students.

I'm wondering about the actual differences between UBC Vancouver and UBC Okanagan in terms of:

• Quality and difficulty of the Computer Science education
• Professors and access to them
• Co-op and internship opportunities
• Access to tech companies and industry
• Recruiting and networking opportunities
• On-campus CS clubs, projects, hackathons, etc.
• Career outcomes after graduation
• Whether employers actually care which UBC campus you graduated from
• Opportunities to get into companies such as Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Apple, Shopify, etc.
• Whether Vancouver provides a significant advantage for getting internships/new-grad jobs compared with UBCO
• Research opportunities, if relevant

For someone whose main goal is to build a career in software engineering/tech rather than academia, how significant is the difference actually?

Did anybody else bomb the midterm? It was anything but Calculus 1. I think I took a Matter and Energy midterm rather than Calculus 1. I already saw a couple of people hand in more than few blank pages.

I don't think I am going to pass Calculus 1 if they put those kinds of questions on exams, since I am not even taking Matter and Energy to quickly understand the problems.

I'm trying to book academic advising at students.ok.ubc.ca/academic-success/advising-options/academic-advising/ but clicking on "Book an Appointment" just gives me a blank tab. Why might this be the case? Would showing up to their office physically resolve the problem?

I’ve started hearing more and more of my friends talk about applying to university, and honestly it’s making me pretty nervous .

I’m hoping some current UBC students, applicants, or people familiar with uBC admissions can give me an honest opinion.

I’m hoping to apply for Arts at both UBC Vancouver and UBC Okanagan. My eventual goal is law school, so I’m mainly looking for an Arts degree that will set me up well for that.

I know UBC looks at more than just grades and that the personal profile is important, so I’m also planning to put a lot of effort into that.

What do you think my UBC Vancouver Arts chances look like?

What about UBC Okanagan Arts?

If I get around 89% in Pre-Calc 11 on my retake, how much does that improve my academic profile?

Roughly what admission average do you think UBC would be looking at for me?

Is there anything in my course selection that could hurt me?

For anyone who has actually applied to UBC Arts recently what was your average and did you get in?
I’m not looking for sugarcoating.
If my chances are questionable, I’d rather hear that now and know what I should improve.

Hello everyone, I would really like some help from those who are currently attending or have attended UBCO...

So I've been looking into an education planner bc website to start applying to universities, and I was specifically looking into UBCO. I thought that all first year students start off with a faculty and not a specific major, for example like you get into a science faculty and you declare your major at the end of year 1. But on the website, it specifically indicates the program to apply like ex. Zoology - Bachelor of science.

So am I tripping?? Like how does this actually work🥹
