I wonder what Justin thinks about her truly. I don’t think he respects her. He said that she forgives him for ANYTHING. That generally doesn’t garner respect.
Saw this in an unrelated YouTube video and it reminded me of Ariana’s personality changes when she goes from guy to guy.
With the way that Nia was treated on the show for SEVEN WHOLE YEARS one might think that she would just hide away and be tormented by Abby and others’ cruel words. Maybe I would have, but that surely has not been the case for Nia.
I am SO proud of this woman. She has been OUT THERE at premiere after premiere and social event after social event for YEARS now. She’s confident in a way that tells me she KNOWS she’s that girl. She’s making connections in the industry and out of the industry like nobodies business. She literally has her own holiday. Abby could NEVER.
Nia is not afraid of Abby and Gianna anymore. Abby even follows HER on Instagram! After all she said to Nia? Crazy work. I PERSONALLY would have blocked Abby years ago but I get the sense that Nia is telling her she couldn’t care less about her. She LETS her see her shine. She LETS her see that she has no power over her anymore. Nia has the power now and I LOVE that for her.
The past was so ugly. So, so ugly. Nia heard her own mentor say that she wouldn’t get work. She heard her say that she was fat and that she was lazy and stupid (imagine calling a CHILD fat on national television and thinking you’re the victim later). She heard Abby try and BRIBE someone to not work with her. Abby told her she wasn’t wanted. She watched as no one but her own mother stood up for her (Season 5 in particular was HELL and I STILL can’t watch it). And then Nia had to hear people all over the internet and IN PERSON say she was a bad dancer, a weak link, and a threat to nobody (f u Jill). She was then ostracized for not allowing Abby to stereotype her into gospel music. Ostracized for choosing her OWN career. Ostracized for saying NO to offensive dances and costumes. The serious issues there were all minimized. Her own teammates later followed Abby’s commands to not include her anymore. Nia even had her reputation sabotaged by the producers. She had her narrative stolen for YEARS. Large percentages of her life were lived in exposure to these cruel experiences. These are the types of things that can DESTROY a person’s sense of self.

Nia has kept her head higher than any of the other Dance Moms girls. She knows she’s strong, brave, and beautiful despite some foul people wanting her to think otherwise. It’s hard knowing that people who were once important figures in your life are rooting against you. It hurts. But it’s just amazing, amazing how when Nia speaks her voice is CLEAR and she speaks TRUTH. She isn’t mean and she isn’t cruel. We all know that the same can’t be said for everybody.
Nia graduated from UCLA (9.4% acceptance rate btw), wrote a book about her experience on the show (calling out abuse directly), is now in ANOTHER off broadway show… She is ALWAYS booked and busy. Nia is a success story to me. I hope she gets to see more justice.
What are your guys’ thoughts on miss Nia Sioux and her career after Dance Moms?
