Back when I moved out of Parents

This was at my first apartment when I moved out of my parents last year at 22. I’ve recently moved to a nicer place, but I’ll always have these pictures as well as more before I started packing everything. The place wasn’t really nice, but it was priced lower and humbling.

It was cool getting more things over time like a tv, tv stand, couch, and table. I used a mattress box as you can see in pic as tv stand for awhile lol. My parents did let me take the old scratched up bed frame and dresser that was in their attic at least.

AC on and off on Cold Start

So my ac works pretty well most of the time. But, when I first start it and it is like 90+ degrees out (TX) the compressor will shut off and on. When I start driving after a bit it stays on even when stopping.

Pretty sure the fan clutch is okay. Wondering if it could be the condenser and/ or orifice tube. When I bought the truck in February it had no ac belt and the compressor was locked up so I put a new belt, tensioner, and compressor. Also has a new battery. 301k miles.

When I start the truck and it is cooler outside, the compressor stays on just fine. I don’t think it could be leaking either as it still blows pretty cold, but will have the pressure tested whenever I decide to take it in.

Choosing night shift for Wellness

I’ve been on nights since basically graduating high school (currently 22m). First it was a hard labor warehouse job 50-70 hour weeks in a freezer, but very good pay. Now for a year and a half I’ve been in this office job basically keeping eyes on multiple warehouse schedules with decent pay.

I’ve always been a night owl and no matter how much sleep I got would dread and struggle waking up early. Especially now at my current job, I enjoy my schedule more and so does my body. I also feel blessed to be able to have downtime to watch movies, play a game, or work on my college classes during a semester.

I’ve been thinking about the long term though. I’m in school for accounting and will get my associates next year and might pursue a bachelors as well. As far as I know, there are really only day shift positions in that field, and I know the work load will be much higher.

I’m wondering if anyone else has gone through these kind of options. Now I make decent pay for my area and the job only sometimes gets stressful. But being able to advance and make more in the future would be great too and would have to happen on day shift.

Let me know how yall feel about your night shift jobs. I went from a really hard labor intensive one to a chill office job. Most of my coworkers have been in this department for 10+ years, but we did get layoffs back in February which has also affected how I feel.

Currently watching the first spider man trilogy for the first time as well lol.

Finally put on 285s

Man they look so much better. The truck has I think about 2 inch body lift and I’m really glad they fill the space better. 2nd pic was the 245s that were on before.

Next is front end parts, then maybe some new ac parts.
Oil pan is leaking too but the dipstick has read great for the 4 months I’ve had it, but will eventually get to it.

Good day turned Cracked Radiator

Welp, today was quite a day. Woke up early to hang with my girlfriend and drove further than I usually do as well. After the mall and Chilis, we went another 15 mins as I was gonna buy some 285s and get them put on. We had to wait about an hour in truck.

I noticed trans and engine temp were going up a bit, but didn’t think too much since I drove more than usual and it’s hot and got ac running. I bought this truck in February so haven’t driven this long in this heat before. I was looking up temp ranges and guy started jacking truck up so I turned it off and coolant started leaking.

Lifted the hood and sure enough the old radiator had cracked on the upper left corner. New tire money went to the radiator unfortunately. Luckily insurance was fast in getting me a tow and a nearby shop was open. Tow truck driver and the mechanic were cool guys. Mechanic showed us a built 5.3 they were going to throw in an old 4Runner lol.

300,860 miles is pretty good for I’m assuming the original one though. I’m also glad this didn’t happen on the road. Just a friendly reminder tho to keep an eye on those gauges, if they work lol.
