There is no longer a tough choice…
It’s so cute the national media thinks we are passing on Stenberg. Hawks fans getting their hopes up again. Lmao

Found this in my backyard. (Bay Area CA). Not very deep… it’s about the size/shape of a hockey puck. Very heavy. Some sort of rusted iron?
He is a 200-foot player. He’s the whole package as a winger. Just pick him and let him and Celebrini terrorize the NHL for the next decade. Don’t overthink this!
But I think Shadow Lord is by far and away the best overall animated Star Wars project ever made. It was darker, more mature, way better visuals/animation, and just way more badass. Every episode was good and felt necessary. The characters were properly developed. No filler arcs or wasted episodes. I loved this show!
Is this a hot take?
Stenberg playing against NHL players and he looks like he absolutely belongs out there. A bit of bad luck and inches away from having a multi-point game vs a pretty damn stacked Canada team.
I think the Sharks only pass on him if they are absolutely in love with Chase Reid.
If Stenberg continues to look good in this tournament, I think GMMG has no choice but to take Stenberg and use other avenues to figure out the defense…
He seems to imply a strong mutual interest between Acuff and Sacramento. I know Scott Perry knows Acuff’s dad.
What if Acuff and his agent sort of tell the Clippers and Nets that Sacramento is the preferred destination? That would be the dream scenario!
I still think it’s probably Stenberg because it would be hard to pass up on a sure thing and gamble on Reid’s ability to reach his potential.
But if they do go with Reid, I have full confidence it’s because the Sharks scouting department sees him as a future top-pairing superstar who can make the Sharks power play unstoppable.
Reid would be more of a gamble, but the reward for that gamble would be multiple Stanley Cups if Reid becomes a Werenski/Fox hybrid.
It would suck if Stenberg is a star winger and Reid never quite pans out, but I still think Reid’s floor is a top 4 guy who can run a power play and be a good puck mover, so it’s still a better outcome than what we could have had picking 9th overall. Maybe GMMG swings for the fences because we are playing with house money by winning this lottery.
Acuff somehow falling to us at 7 would be absolutely the best case scenario. I would have taken him at pick 5. I would be tuning in to Kings games just to see him play. He’s special.
Wagler would also at least be intriguing.
If both are gone before pick 7, I’ll lose all hope that the Kings have a legit future to be excited about. Flemings doesn’t move me at all and Brown is going to be very raw and take a few years to become a star (if he ever hits that ceiling).
If the Kings like Acuff as much as I do, I wouldn’t be opposed of trading up to 5 with the Clippers if the price isn’t exorbitant.
(Players realistically available at 7 overall)
This team is likely going to be even worse next season with no Westbrook and DeRozan and/or Sabonis traded away. We might legitimately end up with the worst record in the NBA even without trying to tank. But because of the new anti-tanking measures, this team might win 20 games, but end up picking 7th again. LMAO
I’d recommend getting into Hockey if you aren’t already. The Sharks are one of the best young teams in the NHL and they have a generational talent in 19 year old Macklin Celebrini. They have arguably the brightest future in the NHL. The NHL season overlaps basically entirely with the NBA season. 82 games. Focusing on the Sharks over the Kings this year was the best decision I’ve ever made as a sports fan. Sharks narrowly missed the playoffs this season, but look poised to make it next season. And they jumped up 7 slots in the lottery and have the #2 overall pick this June!
The rot starts from the very top. Until Vivek sells this team to an owner who is competent and wants to win, this will never change. Vivek isn’t capable of long-term vision. He wants instant gratification. That is why he traded Hali for Sabonis. That is why he wanted DeRozan, Westbrook, etc. He wants to maximize ticket sales at the expense of competent roster building. Until we get a competent ownership group willing to build this thing the right way, Sacramento will never escape basketball hell.
Because I’m not buying a single ticket for the foreseeable future. This franchise has lost me as a paying customer.
Scott Perry has no right to sit there looking disappointed. He allowed this to happen with the meaningless wins. I hope DeRozan aura farming against tanking teams was worth it. Absolutely a disaster. This franchise is dead.
Top 4 pick: (amazing. Good shot to draft a star)
Pick 5-6: (Not ideal, but can still grab maybe the best PG available)
Pick 7-9: (Disaster. Unmitigated disaster)
If Stenberg looks like an absolute stud for Sweden, then there is no drama and Stenberg is 1000% the pick. If Stenberg doesn’t look very good, that makes it more plausible that the Sharks can talk themselves into Reid or a trade down.
You don’t base your evaluation on a single tournament, but if the Sharks are still undecided, I’m sure Stenberg’s performance at Worlds will help finalize their evaluation of his potential.
Either she embraces the dark side fully and becomes a complete badass. Like a canon version of Darth Talon. She could become an antagonist in a future project. She learns from Maul and eventually overpowers him. She betrays him and strands him on Malachor because she discovers what he did to Daki. She becomes a crime lord building power in the shadows and waits until the Empire falls to reveal herself.
OR (unfortunately most likely)
She dabbles in the dark side with Maul. But she learns what Maul did to Daki and leaves Maul. She returns to the light and maybe joins the Rebellion or becomes a bounty hunter or something. The Disney good guy ending.
I hope they don’t do the cop out Disney good guy ending, but we shall see.
I get it, a RHD is a big need, but Stenberg fits a huge need too. Macklin has Smith on his line as his highly-skilled partner who can eventually put up 80 point seasons with ease. Misa needs his highly-skilled linemate to maximize our 2nd line. Being able to roll out a Misa-Stenberg line right after a team gets exhausted trying to defend the Celebrini-Smith line is how championship teams are constructed. We’d essentially have two first lines with premier offensive skill/production.
I love Eklund, but Stenberg is on another level. We have PLENTY of assets we can use to find blue line help. Also, Dickinson will be very good in a couple years!
I trust GMMG to take BPA. You don’t draft for need at 2nd overall. Take the best player (Stenberg) and figure out the defense through free agency and potential trades. Don’t galaxy-brain the 2nd overall pick!
