8" wide leg span and almost as tall, I have no idea how to store or transport this thing. It is assembled, magnatized and primed now so that's the entire dzc phr army ready for paint.
I would like to say, this was a pain in the ass to assemble and just as difficult to magnetize so be warned if you plan on getting one.

Now to decide on a paint scheme. I'm thinking either using the studio scheme with some teal pops of color OR grey with teal...idk, test minis will need to happen.
With most of my fleet assrmbled I decided it was also time to get them primed. Put as much as I could onto my priming sticks and was able to get about half done before sunset.
My son was also working on his fleet, UCM. He has a huge fleet, he'll never play a game large enough to use it all but he'll have options for sure.
I've been sitting on some of this stuff for years. Recently my son and I decided to give it a go so assembled some of our stuff and try it out. We liked it, played a couple more games, bought more, played more. Anyway, I figured it was time to build it all so I could field whatever I wanted.
My new special character came broken and full of support divets...sucks and as much as I am disappointed I'm not fixing more than the broken piece.
Started and finished Seti today, leaving only the daimyo which I hope to finish tomorrow.
You alternate activations, giving orders and moving...then what?
Do the ships just moved then fire OR do all ships move then proceed to a firing phase, taking turns firing in initiative order?
Only a small number of the trees needed a second soaking in the white goo, they are drying for a second time.
The rest are tough, I banged a few on the table a couple times and no flock came off but I did break a tree off the base.
There are a variety of sizes and shapes and they'll work with all the different scales in which I game so I'm happy.
This could be the end of this build.
Spray the tree with isopropyl alcohol.
Follow this rather quickly with a 50/50 mix of pva glue and water. Yes this is rather thick and that's how I wanted it. It should help to further strengthen the trees and increase their durability even further.
This will probably take a few days to dry at which point I'll be able to determine if a second soaking of pva is needed.
Big step but quite easy and quick.
Apply a spray-on contact adhessive from below and let set for one minute.
Liberally sprinkle dark green flock from below and shake most of it off.
Apply spray adhessive mostly from above and let cure for one minute.
Liberally sprinkle medium green flock from above until most branched are covered.
A last light spray of adhessive from directly above.
A light sprinkle of light green flock and a good shake to remove most of it and i'll let these dry for a day even though the adhessive says its fully dry after one hour.
Next step will be the strengthening/hardening/protective spray.
Finally had time to get the next step done on the trees, just getting them all sprayed brown.
Dipping the trees in the latex and giving them a quick blow off with the airbrush to remove the spider webbing. A 24hr drying period left pools and overhangs from excess latex running off the branches and trunks. I'll need to remove all those before moving on.
The latex did exactly as expected and toughed up the trees quite a lot, the next steps should do even more to toughen them up.

Supplies for the trees finally came in but i wasn't sure i ordered enough...turns out it was exactly enough to finish what was left.
Next step, latex dip!
Still waiting on tree supplies so painted more of the shaltari army. This leaves only firstborn, a big flying dragon commander i cam't remember the name of and some pumgari.
...here are some shaltari for your viewing pleasure. Step by step with the paint used in each pic. After the violet the blue-greys are sponged on before returning to the brush for all the detail work.
Cutting up the seafoam is time consuming but must be done to make the size of trees i'm after. Waiting for the industrial strength contact cement to off gas and become sticky may be even more time consuming. Waiting for another batch of seafoam to arrive because you didn't order enough the first time is even more time consuming. Trees set aside until more seafome arrives...maybe i'll paint some minis.
I'll be following the geek gaming scenics indestructable trees video. Starting with the woodland scenics tree kits, a bunch of different glues, washers and various sands, flocks and whatever else i need.
Welllll, this thing was a beast, between the warped mdf frames and the horrible foil/plastic window stuff I need a break from 4ground buildings for a minute. My next terrain ptoject will be something different and easier??
These foil rubber/plastic stuff is horrible. No glue works well on it and when the glue does finally set and hold only the center is adhered, this takes hours sometimes. Because I let this kit sit for years in a box some of the mdf frames are warped, requiring rubber banding, weights or even clamping to get to fit together. These things are causing assembly to take forever...more later.
Pretty massive kit stuffed into this box, some of the frames are bent so this should be a fun build. The directions have an ad for the last building I built. This one could take a while.
