Misha will attend the second half of B E N O I T S training camp

Found in an interview with Nika Edgaze. I wonder if Benoit will choreograph one of Misha’s programs? Plus the road trip with them+Gogo (I tried posting the interview link but because it ends in .ru it was blocked. Originally in Russian, but used auto translate so small mistakes may be present)

Ivan Righini Podcast

Still listening, but Righini has said that he will not be working with Misha on competitive programs, but will continue to work with him on his gala pieces this season. They are meeting next week to work on it. He said they agreed that Misha needed to work with others to be able to improve, but stressed that he still supports Misha and that no bridges have been burned. Honestly seems like the best outcome.

Documentaries about Figure Skating?

Hello! As a post-Milano fan I’ve been watching some figure skating documentaries recently. The most recent ones I’ve watched are Glitter and Gold as well as Be Good Johnny Weir. I was wondering if y’all had any other FS documentary/ video recommendations. Time preference would be between 2014-current and preferably in English/ has English subs, although I am open to all suggestions. Thank you!

New Ilia Malinin Interview with Dazed!

It comes with a photo shoot as well! Two stand outs to me- Ilia was filming for his YouTube channel (video soon?) - and white skates (Swan Lake?)

More Clarification on the Shaidorov contract

Relevant text (translated) -“The conclusion of the contract is carried out by physical culture and sports organizations within the limits of the allocated funds, after the completion of the Olympic Games and before the next Olympic Games or until the exclusion (non-inclusion) of the athlete from the regular national teams of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Olympic sports. Payments are made before the start of the Olympic Games with a monthly payment of 50% of the specified amount, the remaining 50% of the specified amount are paid within 30 (thirty) calendar days after the end of the Olympic Games if the terms of the contract for winning Olympic medals are fulfilled.”

I believe this is the contract clause that Misha is contesting. It sounds like he will only receive half his pay, and the other half will only come after he produces a medal at the 2030 Olympics. Withholding half of an athletes pay for four years until they medal at the most prestigious athletic event seems absurd. Original source linked

From the former coach of Sofia Samodelkina

With everything coming out about Shaido and Kaz Fed I’ve seen a lot of people ask how Samo can train with Raf. It seems like it’s mostly at her own expense and the investment from her coaches. The comments were made under an instagram post about Misha’s lack of funding, they have been translated from Russian

Lack of funding for Mikhail after his historic win!

🇰🇿 Mikhail Shaidorov said that he hasn't received a salary from the Kazakhstan federation for almost six months:

"Apparently, they wanted to punish me somehow, and I haven't received a salary for six months. I still don't have a salary after the victory [at the 🇮🇹 Olympics 2026], and I find this strange.

Now I need to prepare for the next season, but I don't understand how to prepare, because I already have scheduled training camps, and dates when I will be creating my programs. And regarding the creation of programs, we've asked several times: will they be able to pay and so on, and so on. And one person says one thing, another says another, a third says a third thing.

The whole situation is unclear to me. For example, on February 1, they removed my doctor, so since February 1, I officially have no medical supervision. This is strange and unpleasant for me, of course. I usually don't like to talk about this topic, that I'm not being supported somehow.

I don't understand why they made my salary public either. I've never spoken out about it, and only in 2025 did I say that I needed support, that I needed ice time."

Dream Programs

To bring some entertainment in- what are some dream programs you’d like to see skaters do (either in comp or as a gala)?
Some of mine-
Shaidorov- a classical character piece (maybe Swan Lake or Nutcracker) with one of his quirky twists
Glenn- Musical theater, maybe like a Cabaret piece?
Malinin - I would like to see another goofy gala piece, he has a lot of fun with those
Samodelkina- it was posted earlier but I think she could pull off a funny bolero without it being mocking

Looking for a Video

Hello! I have been looking for a video/ stream of a Kazakhstan nationals competition. Any year Misha competed, and if possible prefer it to include the entire, or at least some, of the competition. I have been looking but haven’t been successful so far. A lot of figure skating videos are geoblocked for me so if I have to use a vpn please lmk! Thank you for any help!

Mikhail Jackson (new story on Instagram)

I hope it's not related to the new programs, otherwise I can't handle that much Michael Jackson

And I'm afraid this aesthetic won't suit Misha

Hello! As a new fan, I’ve been going back and learning some figure skating lore. I thought for fun during the off season I’d start this thread. What is your favorite lore from skaters, either on or off of the ice? Favorite drama/ gossip? Favorite funny facts? It doesn’t have to be recent either!
