Shall Iran seek closer ties with Armenia?

I'm saying this based on the following:

Iran has big problems with Azerbaijan, the greatest enemy of Armenia.

Baku dreams to annex the northern provinces of Iran, since they're inhabited by a big azeri-speaking population.

Baku is also a close allie to Israel, that heavily supported Azerbaijan against Armenia in the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war.

Iran has all interest in preserving its border with Armenia intact (i.e. in preventing Azerbaijan's invasion of Southern Armenia) in order not to be geostrategically surrounded by Turkey.

Iran is a big country that could serve as a huge market for Armenia's exports, while Armenia could be a perfect economic and cultural broker between Iran and Europe.

I am Italian, interested in the history and culture of Ethiopia. AMA!

Posting this cause I thought some of you might be curious to get first hand POVs from a country that - for obvious reasons - is tied to the history of Ethiopia, and I am also curious to know what kind of things you would ask!

Wrong date of birth on my NIE, what to do?

Hello guys,

I just realized the month of birth on my NIE is incorrect, probably due to a mistake by the police when I went to the appointment.

How can I get it fixed?

I hope I don't need a new NIE appointment as the process is a bit nightmarish...

Standardization by language clusters

Dear Amazigh friends,

On several occasions I have seen people here debating about what's the best option between these 2:

- promoting a single standard Tamazight language, mostly based on one specific dialect and which would slowly replace all the currently spoken Tamazight languages

- promoting the independent standardization of all the individual Tamazight languages

In my opinion, there is a middle way that would be the best option: standardizing Tamzight languages by cluster, i.e. creating a different standard for the langauges that belong to the same branch:

- standard Zenati (would unify Tarifit, Shawiya and the other Zenati languages)

- standard Masmoudi (would unify Tachelhit, CAT and the other Atlas languges)

- standard Kutama/Kabyle

- standard Tuareg (would unify Tamahaq, Tamasheq etc)

In this way, it would be much easier for the ppl who already speak a language belonging to a specific group to learn its standardized version, every tribe would have its share of prestige and historical recognition, and most importantly, all the 4 clusters would be demographically very relevant.
