Greetings, I’m about to start my second degree cus my primary (MSc Biochem) work has become extremely boring.
I’ve always been someone that likes hands on practice but wasn’t really passionate about smth specific so my only real goal is to find work I can really immerse myself in and make some solid money in it.
Now I’ve narrowed my choices down to 2-3 degrees I could go dor which are Finance & Tech, ChemEng or Law (law specialized in banking and corporate).

I‘m unsure cus I want to keep open the possibility of working abroad for some time when I feel like it let’s say china for a year, then maybe again half a year or so in another country like Switzerland or USA.

I‘m quite good at languages and natural sciences which doesn’t really help in choosing tbh.

If possible, would you- those with some experience in the industry already, say that ChemEng meets my criteria well? Or would FinTech or Law be more reasonable?

I understand that ChemEng in itself is a good degree in general since you acquire complex problem solving skills that can transfer to other industries tho things like FinTech / GRC still requires more niche business knowledge which would make a pivot harder.

So I’m about to start my CAMS and CFE exams prep and I’ve been wondering if it’s actually worth it all.
Many keep saying it’s a global standard and signals that you’re ready to work right off the bat which should be a job guarantor but is that truly the case?

Are you free to apply wherever you want with realistic chances of hiring (without selling yourself short)?
Are you actually in DEMAND or do you need to apply and hope for the best?

The certs will be paid by me since my employer doesn’t wanna do it and it’s fine but if getting these certs won’t turn my job search / job possibilities from the person that’s looking for job openings into person that’s being contacted by company xyz recruiter then it doesn’t seem worth it

Grüße gibt’s hier Bestreiter des o.g. Weges, die in von der Juristerei weg sind und im Bereich compliance gegangen sind zb im Finance Bereich?
Ich interessiere mich sekundär nämlich ebenfalls dafür und überlege das als Plan B anzustreben falls es nach dem ersten StEx mit der Motivation nicht mehr reicht das Ref und zweite auch noch zu bestreiten.

Bei mir steht eine berufliche Umorientierung bevor und ich habe ein starkes Interesse an Forensik- genauer Strafrecht und Wirtschaftskriminalität.

Deswegen überlege ich Jura zu studieren, um mich selbst zu verwirklichen und nicht nur dahinzuarbeiten.
Ich bin zwar bereits Mitte 20, aber wegen meines Alters mache ich mir weniger Sorgen.
Die Ortsgebundenheit an DE schon eher da ich gerne eines Tages auch für eine Zeit in der Schweiz leben wollen würde und da ist Jura wohl eher schlecht für.

Gibt es vllt die Möglichkeit in der Schweiz zu arbeiten für ein Unternehmen, dass die o.g. Schwerpunkte hat mit einem deutschen Desk?

Falls da jemand Erfahrung hat, bitte ich um Hilfe :)

Hallo, ich bin nicht Jurist und habe eben einen Artikel vorgesetzt bekommen in dem es hieß, dass es an Nachwuchs in der Justiz fehlen würde.
Ca 2000 Richter und Staatsanwälte müssten her.

Meines Wissens nach sind die Anforderungen in den StEx doch extrem hoch, um eine solche Position besetzten zu können, richtig?

Wenn also ein solcher Mangel herrscht- müssten dann nicht die Anforderungen gesenkt werden?
Recht häufig las ich bereits das junge Absolventen keine Stellen finden.

Wie seht ihr das?
Ist die Schlussfolgerung korrekt oder ist die Realität anders?

Ich möchte nicht mehr in meiner aktuellen Position (MINT) arbeiten und werde deswegen ein Zweitstudium angehen.

Ich hab’s auf ziemlich genau drei runtergebrochen basierend auf QoL, Sicherheit und Karrierewachstum über die Jahre.

-Bauingenieurwesen
-Chemieingenieurwesen
-Winfo (Mit späteren Fokus auf Wirtschaftsforensik und Data Science)

Thematisch könnte ich mir in allen dreien vorstellen zu arbeiten, bin aber unsicher obs zum Abschluss dann weiterhin so ein Problem geben wird wie der aktuelle Markt in DE bzw. Europa.

Auch meine aktuelle Stelle wurde auf Kurzarbeit gesetzt und es wurden bereits Leute entlassen / Einstellungsstopps verhängt…

Wäre dankbar für paar Ratschläge vllt arbeitet jemand von euch in einer der Branchen und könnte mir etwas über seine aktuelle Karriere berichten :)

So I’m about to go back to university to pursue a second degree cus my job rn is being laid off and I’m not interested in that industry anymore as well.

After some thoughts I came up with the career of a fraud examiner (CFE) and I have questions which google couldn’t quite answer me.

First off: is the job market for fraud examiners / AFC & AML specialists (w bachelors, maybe masters) still a good career considering job safety and pay?

What’s your pay and where are you located?
What’s your educational background?

I‘m based in Germany and I’ll remain here for at least the next 5-7 years (get the new degree done and acquire 2 years of WE & get CFE done) but I’m hesitating as I’m not sure if the work it takes to get there will be rewarded (as in good work life balance, pay or just a sense of fulfillment on the job / challenging)
