I’m a chef and went above my new GMs head and regret it already

Hi, I was promoted to chef a few months ago and got a new GM at the same time. The new GM doesn’t help out enough and I have a constrained labor budget so I’m working insane hours and I’m salary and the pay isn’t compensatory for the hours I’m working. I’m talking over 60 hours consistently for 65k/year in the US. GM keeps doing nothing but walking around and complaining about everything non stop. Had a super busy day Saturday running around like a maniac and told him I didn’t care to hear his opinion. He told me to watch myself and I lost it, went to my car, and called his boss. I told his boss only that I didn’t think he helped enough and the SM and I felt very overworked. The boss now knows I called his boss and I already regret it, but I’ve made it very clear for about a month that I absolutely can’t keep working this much and even asked my boss to write my own schedule (only my hours!) for me so that he can’t be upset when I leave when I’m scheduled. However others in the company have told me they have heard that my GM sucks from the mouth of his boss. Pls help ): I’m considering stopping showing up altogether

Fairly new and young executive chef here, need help with a very scary dishwasher and my own mental health?

UPDATE- I have removed him from the schedule for the rest of the week and told the GM that he needs to be present when I fire this dishwasher because he is brandishing a firearm.

Hired a dishwasher for evenings back in April who had worked with the company years prior. He (26m) is my age (26f). He is close with another part time dishie/prep/catering helper. He was awesome at first, easy to be around, made us laugh, and did his job.

I got surprisingly promoted from sous to executive about a month ago because of a few chefs quitting and being incompetent. We also got a new GM right before I was promoted to executive. He doesn’t help with much, mostly walks around all day critiquing and eating- his only responsibility is doing a biweekly PnL. Service manager does her liquor orders, her FOH schedule, and her bills. I do BOH schedule, my bills, my labor and food cost declining budgets, and my food/drink/supply orders, as well as things like prep lists and planning etc. He has to do one of the kitchen orders on Tuesdays because it’s one of the only days I can take off. He has issue with me leaving more than an hour before close, but I am also the first person in the building everyday. I’m salary so I don’t usually clock in, but I have been the last two weeks and I’ve been in the 60 hour range because of him.

Today was my day off. Aforementioned dishwasher has been off his rocker cussing me out every other shift over scheduling, over his hours, and is just condescending in general. If I cut a cook because we’re slow, he gets pissed off and tells me he’s leaving too. Tells me he doesn’t know how any of the cooks (or myself) are tired because he has three other businesses he is running. Then I cut his hours because he leaves sinks full of dishes every night for the morning dishwasher, and he threatens me that he will not accept working less than 35 hours a week. Then the next day he tells the MOD he is leaving because it’s slow. My biggest concern is that he carries a huge Glock in his waistband at all times and is probably on coke. I am hoping if I just stop scheduling him, he’ll get the message that he is not wanted there.

I’m kind of at my wits end right now. Personal life wise, I am living with my in-laws and my fiancé and I are trying to buy a house soon so I NEED to keep the job. I also have diagnosed borderline personality disorder (in remission) and very very bad anxiety/RLS. I don’t make those an issue at work but I think my mental health is taking a plunge because of the stress. Like, I can handle everything thrown at me and pull miracles out of my ass- I started here as a line cook 10 days shy from a year now and it turned into MY kitchen. But between the manager weaponizing his incompetence, a crazy dishwasher, and balancing my cooks requests and complaints along with the GM’s critique and the higher up’s looking down on me- I’m about to break down in tears.

I’m sure I will be fine but I’m hoping I get some kind of constructive criticism or affirmation or something. Feel free to call me a baby back bitch if I’m being one. TIA

Immediate results or placebo?

I started on 1.5 mg a week ago. My appetite has been completely slashed in half. I’m not sure if it’s placebo or that it’s just working, but if it worked for you like this too, I would like to know.

For context, I gained over 50 pounds in the last 11 months. I started a new job, busted my ass, got promoted twice, and lost energy to cook myself healthy food and work out. I was around 200 pounds before I moved and got this new job.

I work ~60 hours a week and have little time or energy to do anything when I’m not at work. I weigh like 260 right now. Last time I weighed myself was two months ago and I was 254, I have been scared to weigh myself since.

I could usually crush 4000 calories easy after work or on my days off. For the past week I don’t think I’ve eaten more than 2000 even once. None of my clothes fit me right now and I refuse to buy a new wardrobe. I’m going to weigh myself when I get home later, and I’m really nervous.

I’m just curious if anyone else had drastic changes in appetite this early on. Thank you!
