Should I repeat GregMat’s I’m Overwhelmed Plan after scoring 152Q?

I recently took the GRE and scored 152Q, despite getting ~165Q on the two practice tests in the ETS Official Guide and the mock tests on their website.

For my first attempt, I completed GregMat’s I’m Overwhelmed Plan and worked through the entire Official Guide to the GRE.

I’m preparing for a retake and aiming for 160+ Quant. I’m currently thinking of using:

Official GRE Quantitative Reasoning Practice Questions
GregMat Quant question bank and timed tests/sections
GRE Ninja’s 19-video Quant playlist

For those who used the I’m Overwhelmed Plan, would you recommend going through the whole plan again, or should I focus mainly on practice questions, timed sets, and reviewing weak topics through PrepSwift?

Also, if you improved from the low 150s to 160+ in Quant, I’d really appreciate any advice on what made the biggest difference for your retake.

Scored 152Q on the real GRE despite getting 160–164 on ETS practice tests — how should I prepare for a retake?

I took the GRE today and unfortunately scored 152 in Quant, which was much lower than I expected based on my practice.

For preparation, I completed GregMat’s I’m Overwhelmed Plan for Quant and worked through the entire ETS Official Guide, including all of the Quant questions.

My practice results were:
ETS Official Guide Practice Test 1: 160Q
ETS Official Guide Practice Test 2: 164Q
POWERPREP: 24/27 correct

Actual GRE today: 152Q

I felt like I understood the concepts while studying, so I’m pretty disappointed and confused by the gap between my practice performance and the real test.

I’m planning to retake it and would really appreciate advice from anyone who experienced something similar.
What should I do differently for my retake? Should I go through GregMat/PrepSwift again, focus on timed practice, use Manhattan 5 lb, GregMat’s question bank/mini exams, or another resource?

My goal is 162+ Quant.
Would especially love to hear from people who scored around 150–155 on their first attempt and managed to reach 160+ on a retake.

Thank you!

Which GregMat Quant Problem Solving Sets Are Must-Do for 160+?

Hi everyone!
I’m on a very tight schedule and my GRE is coming up soon.

For those who used GregMat and scored 160+ in Quant, which Quant Problem Solving sets/sections are the absolute highest priority?

There are many problem sets on the website, and I definitely won’t have time to complete all of them. If you had to pick only the most valuable ones, what would they be?

Also, are there any sections you think are lower priority or safe to skip if I’m short on time? My current Quant score is around 154, and my goal is 160+.

Thanks a lot!

Is GregMat’s “I’m Overwhelmed” plan enough for 160+ in GRE Quant?

Hi everyone! I’m currently preparing for the GRE and aiming for 160+ in Quant. I have about a month to study, and I’m thinking of following GregMat’s “I’m Overwhelmed” plan for Quant.

For anyone who has used it, do you think it’s enough to reach 160+ if I follow it properly and practice consistently?

I also have the ETS Official Guide and Quant books, which I’m planning to use for additional practice.

Would you recommend adding any other resources, or should I focus on GregMat + ETS and avoid overwhelming myself with too many materials?

Any advice on how to structure my study time would be really appreciated.
Thank you!

Is GRE Ninja Tutoring YouTube playlist enough for GRE Quant prep?

Has anyone here used GRE Ninja Tutoring YouTube playlist for Quant? I have about 2 weeks to prepare and I’m aiming for a 160+ in Quant.

Would you say GRE Ninja Tutoring is enough as the main resource for learning/reviewing all the concepts, if I also practice a lot of questions from other sources?

I’d love to hear from anyone who used it and what score you ended up getting. Also, if there are any important topics or resources I should add, please let me know!

Does anyone know where I can find or buy authentic old maps of Syria or Damascus?

I’m looking for genuinely old/vintage pieces, not modern reprints, ideally something hand-drawn, engraved, or an original historical map. I’d love to find something with real age and history behind it.

Any antique shops, old bookstores, markets, collectors, or specific places in Syria you’d recommend?

Best GRE Quant resources to reach 160+ in one month?

Hi everyone!
I have about one month to prepare for the GRE, and I need to score at least 160 in the Quant section.

What resources would you recommend for someone with a limited amount of time? I’m especially looking for the best books, online courses, question banks, or study plans for Quant.

I’d also really appreciate any advice on how to structure my studying over the next month, what to prioritize, and what helped you improve your Quant score the most.
Any tips or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

5 weeks to go: Need to improve GRE Quant from 148 → 162. Best resources & study plan?

Hi everyone,

I’m taking the GRE again in about 5 weeks, and my goal is to score 162+ in Quant.

The last time I took the GRE was 3 years ago, and I scored 148 in Quant. Since then, I haven’t really studied math, so I feel like I’m starting almost from scratch.
Because my time is limited, I don’t want to waste it on mediocre resources. I’m looking for the most effective study plan.

I’d really appreciate your advice on:
What are the best online resources (courses, YouTube channels, websites)?
What are the best offline resources/books?
If you only had 5 weeks, what would your study plan look like?
How many hours per day would you recommend?
Which topics should I prioritize to maximize my score?
Any tips from people who made a similar jump (especially 148 → 160+)?

I’m willing to study hard I just want to focus on the resources that give the biggest return.

Thanks in advance!

5 weeks to improve GRE Quant to 155+ looking for feedback and advice on my study plan

Hi everyone,

I took the GRE around three years ago and scored 148 in Quant. I now need at least 155 in the Quantitative section for a conditional master’s admission, and I have about five weeks to prepare.

I searched the subreddit and read several posts about GregMat, Manhattan 5 lb., ETS Official Quantitative Reasoning Practice Questions, and the official PowerPrep tests. I’m currently trying to decide how to combine them without wasting time or using too many resources.

My current plan is:
• Review core concepts and foundations using GregMat.
Practice topic-based questions from Manhattan 5 lb.
Use ETS official questions for more realistic practice.
Take timed sections and PowerPrep tests during the final weeks.
• Keep an error log and review every mistake.
Since my previous score was 148, I’m especially worried about whether five weeks is enough to reach 155–160 and how many hours per day I should realistically study.

For anyone who improved from the high 140s to 155+, what helped the most? Would you recommend focusing mainly on GregMat plus ETS, or adding another resource? I’d also appreciate feedback on how to divide the five weeks between concept review, practice, and mock exams.

Thank you!

Looking for information about my great-grandfather (Syrian immigrant to the U.S. around the Titanic era - 90’s)

Hi everyone,
I’m trying to trace my family’s history and I’m hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction or recognize some of these details.

I’m looking for information about my great-grandfather. His first name was Hasan. According to our family, he left Syria for the United States around the same period as the Titanic (roughly 1912). We don’t know whether he was actually on the Titanic or simply traveled during that era.

Family stories say that he worked in a leather and textile factory in the U.S. and sadly died in a workplace accident. His wife was a Lebanese Christian woman named Helen (Helene). She later converted to Islam, returned to Syria after his death, and had one son named Khalil (my grandfather).

We were also told that Helen was originally from a town called Douma, Lebanon, and that her brother’s name was Michael (Mikhael).

Another detail we’ve heard is that our family surname may have originally been different and was later changed to Saleh, which is the surname our family uses today.

I know these details are limited, but if anyone has suggestions on where I should search—or if any of this sounds familiar—I would be incredibly grateful.
Thank you so much for any help or advice.

Thank you!
