Is it FPIES?

My daughter is 6.5 months old, breastfed.

We gave her peanuts once (last Sunday) - nothing. The next day after we gave it to her again - she had redness around her mouth which disappeared alone. We still took her to the allergist that did the allergy test where you stab them with the allergen and nothing showed up. (I’m sorry I don’t know how it’s called). Around 20 hours later she vommited, but was ok.

Then we stopped for a few days and she also got Rota virus vaccine on Wednesday.

Today we gave her peanuts again and this time nothing happened, so we also gave her an egg and a tomato which she ate a lot of times before.

About 3-4 hours after she ate the peanuts (and after she nursed) she threw up. She was fine, we were a bit worried. Then about 2.5 hours later she nursed again and threw up again, a lot. And then about 20 minutes later she threw up again… now she’s sleeping but she looked fine.

Do you think it’s FPIES? Of course I will go to the doctor but I wanted to hear from people with experience if it sounds like it at all.

She’s not a baby that spits/throws up at all, so that is why it’s kind of alarming to us. She also didn’t vomit since the vaccine, only today after the peanuts.

Thanks!

Traveling with a 1.3 old

We want to travel to Taiwan next April with our baby, which will be 15 months old. The time difference from where we live is 5 hours. It will be our first trip abroad with her.

We are worried she might not handle the jet lag very well when we get there and also when we get home.

How do kids usually handle jet lag? Do you have any tips for us?

We plan to be there 15-18 days not including the flights.

Thanks!

My 3 months old won’t sleep on her back. The minute we put her on her back she wakes up. During the day we put her on her stomach and turn on baby sense and look at her every 5 minutes or so.

During the night she wakes up every 90 minutes or so and I’m just so tired (I breastfeed).

Should I put her on her stomach with the baby sense on during the night and wake up every 1 hour just to make sure she’s ok and go back to sleep?

I’m very anxious about SIDS but also very very very tired.

Our doctor also told us that some babies just don’t like sleeping on their back and put her on her stomach with baby sense.

I’m also scared this might be hurting her - the fact that she’s not sleeping more than 2 hours every time.

What do you think?

My LO is 13 weeks old. We had a really hard birth that ended in vacuum after 4 hours of pushing.

She was very weak and sleepy after it and we had difficulties in breastfeeding so out of stress from hospital crew I gave her formula and started pumping. I pumped exclusively for 6 weeks and kept trying to breastfeed until somehow at 6 weeks she started breastfeeding exclusively (I thought it would never happen since she liked the bottle).

Until she was about 3 weeks old she slept A LOT and then almost instantly she “woke up” and it’s been a nightmare since then.

She used to sleep in her crib on her back without a problem and since that 3 weeks mark she won’t last there more than 10/20 minutes at best during the day. So it caused us to do constant naps all day (and it was a nightmare also pumping and if my husband wouldn’t have helped I probably wouldn’t have been able to do it). Putting her to sleep has also became a nightmare because in a lot of the times we try she just wouldn’t fall asleep and even if we did she would have a difficulty staying asleep.

We would play with her, do tummy time, sing to her and follow her tired signals but she refuses to sleep. In addition every small noise makes her jump.

We started putting her on her tummy while she sleeps with full supervision but we can’t do it at night.

Until about a month ago she was able to sleep on her back the first night stretch and even sleep for 3-5 hours. But now she wakes up after 2 hours max, most times it’s even less and starting around 4-5am it drops to 1 hour.

In general she hasn’t been getting 14 hours of sleep a day unless I really “fight” with her to sleep. She gains weight and I think is pretty developed but I’m still worried she’s not sleeping enough.

It was long but I have a few questions

  1. Has anyone else experienced their baby not being to sleep on their back during the day (and also night)? Does it ever get better? I’m trying to put her down for one nap a day on her back but it’s not working. I also tried warming the crib, leave my hand on her, put her down but first, put her on her side first - nothing works!

  2. Has anyone else experienced their baby not sleeping minimum of 14 hours a day? I see other babies sleeping so nicely on their back and in general just sleeping and I just wish it was that easy.. I get nothing done and I think I’m losing it.

  3. Anyone else’s nursing baby waking up every 2 hours or less at night to eat? Half the time she poops and I think this is what wakes her up but sometimes it doesn’t.. and I also thought she should be over the gas issues?

If came out really messy so I hope it was clear

I’m just really tired of the nights and the days and I don’t see it getting better.. am I doing something wrong?

I love her so so much and I just want to make sure I don’t hurt her.
