advice

Hi guys,
I’m a university student who moved away and changed their contract to seasonal. I waited for them to contact me to update me on what shifts they wanted me to work over Christmas and they chose to leave it until the last second by which point I’d already made plans relating to a family member’s care so I said I couldn’t. I didn’t reach out prior to this as I assumed the radio silence meant that they didn’t need me (maybe a bit stupid of me?). They haven’t contacted me since. I went to check my HMRC app to see that my employment ended with them at Christmas, but I received no information about this? Surely this is wrong of them to do?

Anniversary Meal Recommendations

Hi guys, I’m a local (so I probably should know this by now haha) but I’m looking for a nice, romantic restaurant in Hull for an anniversary meal.

I’m a student so I’m working with a bit of a tight budget, ideally no more than around £45 per person. I still want somewhere that feels a bit special though, like romantic vibes rather than just a standard chain place.

Any recommendations would be really appreciated!

Epic Games Account Recovery

I found out at the end of 2025, while I was back home from uni, that my Epic Games account had somehow become unlinked from my Xbox account and completely disappeared.

The thing is, I had stopped playing Fortnite for quite a while around mid/late 2024 or early 2025. It may have even been close to a year that I wasn't actively playing. When I tried to log back in during December 2025, that's when I realised something was wrong.

I checked my fiancé's friends list, searched for the account, tried everything I could think of, but it was like the account had never existed. I've been playing Fortnite since late 2017, so as you can imagine I'm pretty attached to the account, not to mention the amount of money that's been spent on it over the years. It wasn't just Fortnite either, as I also used the account for Rocket League and Fall Guys, which is another reason I'd really love to get it back.

At the time I submitted an account recovery request, but it was denied. Since I really missed playing Fortnite, I ended up making a temporary Epic account and linking that to my Xbox. Looking back, I'm not sure if that was a mistake.

After mourning the loss of the account for months, I've finally submitted another recovery request. The problem is that I don't have any Epic Games invoices because all my purchases were made through Microsoft/Xbox.

So far I've provided:

• The approximate date I started playing Fortnite
• The date of one of my password resets
• The date of my first Victory Royale
• The season I bought my first Battle Pass
• The season I got my first win umbrella
• My Xbox gamertag that was linked to the account
• The fact that my Xbox gamertag and Epic Games username were the same and based on my legal name

I've also told Epic that I'm willing to provide ID to verify my identity, as the Epic username was essentially my legal name. I've said that I have photos of myself in the Fortnite lobby with the username visible that I can provide if needed, and I could probably name most of the skins I've bought over the years as well.

For anyone who's been through Epic account recovery before, how likely do you think I am to get my account back? Is this enough information to prove ownership, or am I fighting a losing battle at this point?

I'd really appreciate hearing other people's experiences.
