Very long shot indeed, but who knows?

Guy at Bilton Asda today 3pm onwards, saw you looking twice, passed you again on self checkouts, I smiled whilst flipping my rading glasses up - if you see this, did we meet in the past, you looked familiar as I might have done to you? :)

Made a new Hull Fair tee

You folks loved my Hull Fair print/illustration from a while back, hope you don't mind me sharing that after being asked a bunch I've now done it as a screen printed t-shirt.
Screen printed by the lovely bunch over at Flippin Sweet in Bridlington.

Hi,
we’re four guys, and we’ve put together Westminster’s restaurant scene in an app called Vota. The concept is simple: you see two places side by side (for example Famille vs. Kachina Southwestern Grill), you choose the place you’d rather go to, and the ranking updates instantly. The more people vote, the more accurate the list gets over time. There are still a few duplicates here and there, but I’m continuously cleaning up the data.

Here’s the iPhone version, with categories that actually fit Westminster’s food scene:
https://apps.apple.com/app/vota-restaurant-ratings/id6744969212

And here’s the Android version (finally live):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vota.app

P.S. I’m not from Westminster (I live in Gothenburg). I’m not collecting data, not selling anything, and the app does not use AI-generated content. I’m posting in a few different subreddits because we now support more regions, and I genuinely want honest feedback from people who actually know the area.

There is no place called Humberside!!!🤬🤬🤬

Humberside hasn’t existed in 1st of April 1996. I think FC and KR can agree that is beyond stupid and The Sportsman should know better.

Moving to London, any movers suggestions?

Moving a singular bedroom to London from Hull. Relatively simple move with not many items. The cheapest quote of 3 is 795 which sounds high for a double bed, and flat chest of drawers and closet. Anyone got any other suggestions?

Advice on nice areas to live in Hull!

Can you please give a family of four, with two children under 10, recommendations on where to live in Hull? Which areas should we be looking at in terms of safety (high priority), schools (primary and secondary - non-religious), family orientated community feel, easy access to markets and retail?

Recycling advice.

Can any council/recycling operatives offer me some advice? I moved to hull a few weeks ago, and therefore have a huge amount of cardboard boxes. I filled up my bin, and filled a couple of boxes with cardboard. However, on three occasions now the boxes is full of torn up cardboard have just been left.
Where I moved from, the recycling operatives would take any cardboard that was neatly stacked up outside by the bins on the appropriate day. Is this not the case here? And will cardboard only be collected if it is in the blue bin. Many thanks.

Hull Karaoke?

Hello, a bunch of friends and I will be in Hull from 27th-31st July for a conference at the university. It's our first time in Hull.

We were wondering if anybody could let us know if there was anywhere to do karaoke on 27th-30th? We have other plans on the evening of 31st.

We’re going to the University of Hull later this month and don’t know much about the city. Can anyone recommend a good hotel or the best area to stay in? We’d like somewhere that’s convenient for the university and safe. Any suggestions would be appreciated
