My 3 yo cat was diagnosed with stage 3 ckd a little over 2 months ago after some routine bloodwork he had for a dental procedure. I hate myself for not catching this sooner. We worked so hard to get his numbers stable as shown on his bloodwork 3 weeks ago. He was at the vet on thursday for antibiotics for his teeth and by this morning his little body just have out. I had to make the dreaded decision. I know we don't know all the answers with these things, but I ask myself how he went from a stable stage 3 to kidney failure in 3 wks. I know I will never know the answer. I miss him so much. The walk though a vets waiting room with tears streaming down your face and an empty pet carrier is the loneliest walk you will ever make. I knew this day would eventually come, just not this fast. Hugs your babies extra tight tonight.
