Anyone who thinks Coinkite will remain solvent after the impending class action lawsuit is lying to themselves
The devices themselves are probably fine after the firmware update, and apparently dice users are unaffected.
That doesn't change the fact that millions of dollars have been lost by users, and it's quite literally guaranteed that lawyers are foaming at the mouth to be the first to file a class action lawsuit.
Coinkite is a small company, there is quite literally no way under the sun that they will have sufficient funds to support a defense against a class action lawsuit of this magnitude, the outcome of said class action lawsuit is irrelevant because the legal fees for defense alone will bankrupt them.
I think from a hardware perspective, the coldcard is a solid device, but this is the end of the company and you will need to come to terms with the understanding that we are all going to be transitioning to "orphan device" status before the end of the year.
This is not an attack on Coinkite or Coldcard, this is just a plain statement of fact.

Where to get heavily abused pinball machines?
I'd like to take on the project of a pinball machine that has been seriously hacked to shit by the previous owner. I'm talking a machine where some dummy cut out all the internals and hardwired the flippers to the wall.
Basically I want a project machine that nobody else wants to fix because it's electrically beyond saving (but isn't literally rotting away/moldy).
Anyone know where to find such a disaster in need of love?
What ended up happening to Kristopher Justinboyer Ervin, the owner of the AutoKeyCard business cards?
Did he end up appealing? What's been the latest on that whole situation?
If God had not intended for man to pick up and snuggle these animals, he wouldn't have made them look like *this*
Did ALLPCB just go out of business?
I was about to get a quote from them for a project, but on their homepage they have a big message that says all operations are being suspended. Anyone know more about this?
