Could I have found a better weapon for this character?

Moot point because a herd of death yak got me on Lair 1 (I thought there was one death yak and me and the horde of yak zombies could take it, turned out I wound up stepping into a herd). But on a very low level of the dungeon playing as a kobold stabber I found this bad boy . . . +11 dagger {devious, rF+ rN+ Str+3 Int+2} and I'm wondering if a stabber could actually find anything better than +11 devious for killing even if it's just a dagger?

Ice Age Challenge advice?

I'm finding it harder than Harmless was. Beat that going pacifist with a social build, which was a lot easier to get going when 14 whole evolutions were blocked from ever appearing giving me a greater chance of getting ones that let me charm opponents (minus toe beans which should be blocked since it's an attack).

Not sure why Ice Age is giving me so much more trouble, unless it's the movement penalty. Does snow have a worse penalty than sand?

Can't get shower faucet stem off

Need to replace the stem and seat on the hot water valve in my bathroom shower. A job I technically know how to do and have done in the bathtub of another bathroom before. The damn stem won't budge when I try to get it off though.

I've tried vinegar in case hard water deposits were cementing it in place (sprayed on with a spray bottle). I've tried WD40. I've tried wrapping a cloth around it for a better grip. It won't budge and eventually the vice grip pliers or plumbers wrench (have tried both) just slip off and slide around the nut they should be turning for me. Have wound up grinding brass shavings off of it trying to get it to turn.

I need to avoid damaging the pipe it's attached to and I need the stem to be intact enough for me to bring it to the hardware store and get the right part. I have no idea the brand or size used my wife and I did not install the shower and the person who did has been dead a while now if they even remembered and there is nothing written on the parts anywhere I can see so I can't just go tell them I need a stem and seat for a (brand name) faucet. But as long as I can take it in and get the size right the stem itself does not have to be intact when I get it off as long as I don't damage the pipe.

Have considered a hack saw but I'm worried about either damaging the pipe or removing the part I'm supposed to get off with a wrench and the rest being stuck. Access to power tools is limited but we do have a drill (although I have the same worries there as with a hacksaw).

This place has been in my wife's family for about 60 years and standing for over a hundred. In that time maintenance has been sporadic and much of it incompetently done. Some of the plumbing is still original to when the house was built but the portion of plumbing in question likely dates to the early or mid 90s. Hoping I can get this done without damaging anything I don't already plan to replace so I can stop this leak without needing to hire a professional for what would be an easy job if this part would just turn when I'm using the wrench.
