I am having several problems with my Elegoo Saturn 3 and I am trying to understand whether the issue is caused by the power supply, the front power switch PCB, the LCD screen, the firmware, or a combination of these.

The LCD screen had already started showing some faulty areas, so I ordered a replacement. Before leaving the printer, I switched it off normally using the front power button.

Later, while waiting for the new screen to arrive, I tried to switch the printer back on so I could still print smaller models using the parts of the LCD that were working correctly. However, the printer would not power on at all.

I then tried the power adapter from my Elegoo Mars 2. It has a much lower power output, but I had experienced something similar before, where the printer temporarily worked with the Mars 2 adapter and then started working again with the original Saturn adapter.

With the Mars 2 adapter, the Saturn 3 powered on, but it immediately switched off whenever I moved the build plate, started an exposure test, or did anything that required more power.

I can now power the printer using its original Saturn power adapter again, but the same shutdown problem happens. The only exception is when I disconnect the cables from the front power switch PCB and connect them directly together, bypassing the switch PCB. When I do that, the printer stays powered on and the build plate moves normally.

This makes me think that the front power switch PCB may be faulty or creating too much resistance under load.

However, I now also have a separate LCD problem. The old damaged LCD no longer lights up during an exposure test. On the touchscreen display, the exposure preview only shows a solid rectangle instead of the normal Elegoo test pattern.

When I try to print a test file, I receive this error:

“Different resolution with projector - 11520”

I thought the firmware might have become corrupted or incompatible, so I tried updating it. However, I am not sure whether I installed the correct firmware version, and I do not know whether the error is caused by the firmware or because the old LCD screen has now completely failed.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

With the proximity of the release of Brand New Day I already feel my spidey hype rising, working on a few spider-man projects because of it!

Custom reflecting claws I made for my Wolverine. I didn’t like the idea of sticking something on the stock claws, gotta love options and easy interchangeability, so I modeled my own claws, printed them, painted them and then printed a hulk reflection on them. Super easy to pop out the figures claws and change them for this one’s for a quick photo or to make a change on the display!
