❗Weekly X-Half Challenge #2: Something Broken

🙏 First of all: thank you for your participation in the #1 Challenge! I hope it was fun to all and had inspired you to take more pictures, to use more your X Half!

For this week’s theme, we picked Something Broken 💔

Think of anything that feels damaged, fractured, worn out, incomplete, or repaired.

It can be very literal, like a cracked object or a broken detail, or more abstract, like a scene that feels fragmented or imperfect.

Some ideas:

  • Cracks, chips, or broken surfaces;
  • Old or damaged objects;
  • Reflections, shadows, or compositions that feel fractured;
  • Something repaired, patched, or held together;
  • An abstract take on imperfection or decay.

❗ How to participate & some rules:

  • Make a post with your photo in which the title has the following information:
    • Challenge #2: Something Broken - (Your Photo Title);
  • The photograph should be taken during the week of the challenge - this to make us go out and look for inspiration! ;
  • In this week's challenge, all film simulations are valid - there may be different rules in the coming weeks!
  • Optional: tell us a bit about how you shot it, your settings, or what made you choose the scene.

Looking forward to seeing everyone’s take on Something Broken.

IT'S ALMOST OVER! - Weekly X-Half Challenge #1: Shadow Play

(original post here with all the submissions: https://www.reddit.com/r/fujiXhalf/comments/1t98oe7/weekly\_xhalf\_challenge\_1\_shadow\_play/)

Hello everyone! 👋

The week is ending and, with it, the weekly challenge (not over yet, today you can and should still share your photos!).

So far, what did you think? Good submissions? Someone wanted to participate but couldn't find "the photo"?

About the challenge itself: do you think we should change something? Do you think a winner is needed?

Help make this a fun challenge for everyone! 📷 Thank you!

An afternoon with friends, cats and my X-Half

These are some of the records made yesterday with my X-Half.

Are they perfect photos? No. Did I make memories and have fun? Without a doubt.

I love my X Half!

❗Weekly X-Half Challenge #1: Shadow Play

Welcome to the first weekly challenge! 👋

For this week’s theme, we picked Shadow Play.
The goal is simple: share a photo taken with your Fujifilm X-Half that uses shadows in an interesting, creative, or striking way.

You can interpret the theme however you like — dramatic shadows, subtle light patterns, silhouettes, street scenes, abstract compositions, or anything else that fits the idea.

➡️ A few ideas:

  • Strong sunlight and long shadows;
  • Silhouettes;
  • Reflections mixed with shadows;
  • Shadows creating shapes or patterns;
  • Minimalist compositions.

❗ How to participate & some rules:

  • Make a post with your photo in which the title has the following information:
    • Challenge #1: Shadow Play - (Your Photo Title);
  • The photograph should be taken during the week of the challenge - this to make us go out and look for inspiration! ;
  • In this week's challenge, all film simulations are valid - there may be different rules in the coming weeks!
  • Optional: tell us a bit about how you shot it, your settings, or what made you choose the scene.

Looking forward to seeing everyone’s take on Shadow Play.

Thank you all for the feedback and I hope you like it.
A special thank you to u/CransonFiguerito and u/ColourMayBleed (check it out is great project https://www.oeuvre52.com).

X-HALF challenge:Summary and first steps!

Hello everyone! 👋

As I shared in yesterday's post (here), I think it will be interesting to have, in this sub, a challenge to share the photos we are taking with X-Half as well as to motivate us to go out more, to photograph more.

Thus, and in view of everyone's feedback:

  • 👉 The challenge will be weekly, and will start on Sunday:
    • Every Sunday we can make a post with the 5 most voted posts (for example) and add it to a fixed post that will be the "file" of the challenges (if mod u/Unlikely_West24 accepts);
    • After that, a new challenge was announced so that, during the week, everyone participates;
  • 👉 I asked the mod of this subreddit to add some tags, since it will allow us to identify the posts we make;
  • 👉 Each week, in addition to the challenge, the rules may be different (e.g. SOOC, horizontal, photo taken this week, etc.);
  • 👉 We can also have weeks where the winner(s) of the previous week choose the next winner and/or theme.

Ready? Any other suggestions? Do you think it makes sense?

Thank you 📷

X-HALF challenge: weekly or monthly contest idea?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been thinking about an idea to make this subreddit a bit more interactive and fun: a regular contest or challenge with the Fujifilm X-HALF.

It could be something simple, like a weekly or monthly theme, with photos shared in the comments or in a dedicated post.

Before putting anything together, I wanted to see if there would actually be interest in this from the community.

What would you prefer?
• Weekly contest
• Monthly contest
• Open challenge

If you have any ideas for themes, rules, or format, I’d love to hear them.
