EmuCoreC (v0.0.4) - a PS3 emulator (RPCS3-based Android core) - Soul Calibur 4 test on Odin 3

A test video to show perfromance of a very new fork of RPCS3, EmuCoreC, for andorid. This video is totally out of box type experience where I just downloaded it and then installed it...changed nothing on the emulator itself to see how well it performs on my Odin 3 for my select game. As you can see with "standard" performance and whatever stock setting this emulator has...with the device's stock driver...runs SC4 really well.

And for some reason my odin 3 fails to record any audio when capturing video :( Anyway I highly recommend to try it

And for Unreal engine based games I would recommend StevenMXZ's V34 or the WinNative-Emu (choose the P one) turnip drivers - games like The Bourne Conspiracy or Silent Hill Downpour is better with them. Give it a go and see how it goes for your game(s).

EmuCoreC (v0.0.2) - a PS3 emulator (RPCS3-based Android core) - Soul Calibur 4 test

Before anything MUTE the video as it seems for some reason recording while gaming really screws up the audio with crackles but while gaming no audio issues. My rg 477v is on GammaOSNext with Balanced performance...recording audio is even worse crackles in Max power and power saving tanks gaming performance - no idea how to fix this yet.

Anyway as you can see rg 477v even WITH the screen+audio recording can hold a very respectable framerate (better without screen recorder). This is a install of version 0.0.2 with stock settings << yep the second release and already performing pretty well. All on stock settings(just changed to 4:3) with vulkan.

Thought a video is better than some screenshots. Also have tried Tekken DR and Soldner X2 - both stays solid 60fps. So give it a try and see how it goes for your game(s).

Redream is still alive and coming back

Remember Redream? IMHO the first optimized emulator I've ever used after ppsspp...and the only one I paid for after ppsspp gold to use the high-res functionality back in 2019! But only gripe was this gem of an emu did not have vibration support for controller on almost every android device. And other gripe was that annoying 3 dots that remain visible when you game...no way to hide it!?!?

Checking old threads, I see people complaining about it but no one actually asked the dev? Anyways I just did...err like few times and he thankfully responded.

So far, the dev has confirmed that he will remove the 3 dots on top right, aka able to hide it.

And later down the track he will investigate the vibration function issue - he was genuinely oblivious to the fact that such feature was not working for most andorid devices as he only tested on nvidia shield himself.

So yeah...good news for anyone used/using it. And I did it since rp nova is coming out soon....so would be great if it drops with the update then. Thank me later.

EmuCoreX Ps2 emulator allows ANGLE for OpenGL (RG 477v/m)

I highly recommend that you try this emulator if you happen to own a device that uses MediaTek Dimensity 8300 which can benefit from ANGLE (Almost Native Graphics Layer Engine).

So please try the latest version from
https://github.com/sashkinbro/EmuCoreX/releases

And post some results please. And NO you don't need buy PRO version - it gives you some additional skin/theme for being a supporter....don't think it's even ready at the time of this post.

Anyway, I have GammaOsNext FULL on my 477v and in developer mode ANGLE is greyed out and can't enable it. Yet in this emu, which has angle libraries bundled in for opengl path for MediaTek..so it will use ANGLE when using OpenGL for rendering. You can enable it in the menu > Emulation > enable ANGLE for OpenGL in "Speed Hacks" section...and yes your Graphics mode needs to be in OpenGL and not others.

I've done number of testing on my fv games and the OpenGL performance surpases any other ps2 emulator when it comes to these devices. Have attached some screens running at 3x res, 16x A.F, Accurate hardware download mode, Max blending accuracy. All games ran well...and yes it will drain battery, so best if to run it at 2x which is more efficient. Only for TTT I needed to put VU0 and VU1 Clamping to Extra+Sign to get proper gfx. And if you use 480p mode, for games that support it, I highly recommend to disable non-interlacing and anti-blur patches as they're just overheads and only good for usual interlaced only mode games.

So yeah lets see some testing results fellow rg477v and m users...

Highly recommend to try this WIP gem

https://github.com/sashkinbro/EmuCoreX

Seems after the nethersx2 dev builds...this is the best performer for mali gpu. Yes there are issues but seems for the games I play...all the tekken games runs great without any issues or crashes on default settings. Hopefully it improves on mali devices later down the track.
