I’ve been doing contract work for several years, dealing with the feast-and-famine as best I could. This year, the economy has made the famine more severe, and now my certs have expired (namely SHRM-SCP), so I’m no longer eligible for roles that my experience lines up with. But in order to afford reactivating my certs, I need a stable income. So basically I’m stuck, with no real way to unstick myself. I’m working low-levels jobs at the moment, but they’re just enough to get by, not enough to save money.
