ACRRM 2027 Intake 1 – Anyone else starting? Question about Year 1 hospital training

Hi everyone,

I’ve recently accepted an ACRRM 2027 Intake 1 training position in WA and was wondering if there are any other upcoming ACRRM registrars here. It would be great to connect and support each other throughout training.

I also have a question regarding the training pathway. I’m currently employed as an RMO with Royal Perth Bentley Group, and my contract runs until January 2028. Since I’ll remain in this accredited hospital position during 2027, will this hospital year count as my Year 1 ACRRM hospital training, with community GP training commencing after I finish my RPBG contract? I really want to continue with RPBG until 2028 and can get the paeds/ OG/ ICU rotations which are mandatory for the training.

Has anyone been in a similar situation, or can current ACRRM registrars share how this works? Will they allow us to complete the hospital rotation in MM1 location.

Thanks in advance, and feel free to comment or send me a message if you’re also starting ACRRM in 2027!

Good deal ?

Afternoon friends…Is this a good deal considering it will be my first car? It has clean PPSR and well maintained service history.
I don’t drive very much—mainly for groceries, visiting friends on weekends, and the occasional longer country trip every 2–3 months.
The dealer has also offered an extended warranty:
• 1 year – AUD 1,600
• 3 years – AUD 2,047
• 5 years – AUD 2,090
Would you recommend taking any of these warranty options, or would it be better to decline them and save the money?

First car in Australia – RAV4 vs CX-5 vs Tucson vs Kona vs Eclipse Cross (~$15k budget)

Hi everyone,

I’m looking to buy my first car in Australia and would really appreciate some advice from people with more experience.

Budget: Around $15,000 AUD

My options currently seem to be:
Toyota RAV4 (2013-2014) – usually 150k–250k km
Mazda CX-5 Petrol (2014-2015) – generally under 150k km
Hyundai Tucson (2017-2018)
Hyundai Kona (2017-2018)
Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross (2017-2019)

My usage:
Mainly short city driving around Perth (shopping, errands, work)
One country road trip every 2–3 months
Probably 10,000 km per year

My priorities:
Reliability
Low maintenance costs
Good resale value
Easy ownership for someone with very little car knowledge
I will be getting a full RAC pre-purchase inspection before buying.

Would you choose an older RAV4 with higher kilometres, or a newer CX-5/Tucson/Kona/Eclipse Cross with lower kilometres?

Any specific years, engines, or transmissions I should avoid?

Thanks in advance for your help! ☺️

First car.. Budget 10-15k

Hi everyone,

Hope you’re all having a great weekend.

I’m currently looking to buy a reliable used car with a budget of around AUD 10,000–15,000. My preference is for an SUV with approximately 100,000–150,000 km on the clock. Reliability, low maintenance costs, and good resale value are my main priorities.

The vehicle will mainly be used for moderate city driving around Perth, along with one country road trips every 2-3 month, so I’m looking for something comfortable, practical, and economical to run.

If anyone has recommendations or knows of a suitable vehicle for sale, I’d greatly appreciate your suggestions.

Thank you!☺️

RACGP — Rural NSW

Does anyone have any insights regarding Rural Western NSW, Rural Western NSW – Murrumbidgee, and Rural North Eastern NSW – New England & North West regions?

I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could shed some light on these regions in terms of communication with major cities, training experience, lifestyle, workload, and overall opportunities.

Thank you ☺️

AGPT 2027

What quartile score would I realistically need to secure a WA rural training spot? Also, how competitive was it last year? Currently : Spots 105, 1st preference : 211

If anyone has the 2026 intake seat matrix or last year’s matrix screenshots, I would really appreciate it if you could kindly DM me or post them here.

Thank you 🙏
