Papal Dynasty is pretty fun!

I started a run where I wanted to establish a 'papal dynasty', that being a dynasty of entirely clergy. Started as a count level 18 y/o priest, snuck my way into the cardinate within 5 years, rapidly became the most holy, and was Pope by 28. Immediately forced the religion to accept clergy marriage so I could legally marry a beautiful nun. I am so very lucky I lived long enough not only for the church seperation to trigger, but also all the way to the phase where I could do something about it. This also let me become head of faith, the supreme arbiter of what is christian and what is not. Now I just need to rig the succession for my chad of a grandson so he can become pope at like, 20 or whatever (yeah, I own this system now ;). Also planning to charge into Jerusalem, of course. But first I have to make sure the Egyptian faith factions don't eat me alive.

Serious Oversight in Clerical Marriage

I started a run as a clerical only (so far) dynasty. My original character, shown here, made it to pope at 28 (71 now, he's been pope 43 years, and has now survived the Black Death lmao) and almost immediately made it so the clergy could marry (so my dynasty could actually... y'know... work without me being an impious adulterer). Everything was great, I had a beautiful lustful nun wife (romanced her so it was fine, got a lot of kids out of her too), but she sadly just died of old age. So then when I look around for a woman with like, high martial or something so I can invade a Byzantine kingdom (the emperor is a muslim peasant leader so I can just do a holy war) with better stats, I notice that my daughters show up as options. I didn't do anything to consanguinity laws (also avunculate? ew, I thought it was at least cousins) but I am given the option to marry her for some reason. Utterly bizarre. I won't because I'm a holy man, the holiest man in fact, but still. I think the devs messed up how clerical marriage is calculated.

This can't go terribly, I'm sure.

...I mean realistically it is way better than Balerion but still. Anyways should I stick her with Maegor? I randomly got her because I was defending the Reach from the hightower's liberty war.

I'm loving this mod already

I've decided to restore my clan in the only way I know how... illicit relationships.

(They aren't married by the way, in fact she's never married... but she is popping out Uchihas lmao)

Wow it's almost like peace really works out for dragonriders or something

I feel there is a disturbing trend of sending the queens you are in love with off to get shot by some crackshot dornishmen, but I'm not sure why that's come to mind (RIP most of Jaehaerys' kids lol.. he's probably just going to make Aemon marry Daenerys.. unless winter fever gets her again)

My wolf is so deadly he has mastered not only his natural weapons, but those wielded by men as well!

This is actually the highest prowess I've ever seen a wolf... I mean it is also buffed by that ridiculous trait but even without THAT it is 32.

Is it viable to conquer China with Elephants?

Started as a Han adventurer on the fringe of the Byzantine empire (lore is that his parents were refugees who fled while the Song dynasty was going through its decline). For the last 24 years since game start I've been basically EVERYWHERE in the world, with the exception of the Steppe (low point of interest density means its not worth the time). I've collected thousands of gold just from being a silk road trailer and the various money perks adventurers get, I've unlocked all stewardship, learning, and wanderer trees... so I ask... How viable is it to conquer China with Elephants? Because I can get them for just 80- and considering the like 150 coin costing heavy men at arms here I have are only 15, that's a crazy amount of money I'm saving. Is it viable not to have any siege engines? I know I'll basically be totally unable to touch Elephants unless I spend decades developing the technology, so this seems like my best shot to quite literally step on every aspiring warlord in China and claim the mandate of heaven. (I do have mods but they are really just for immersion and extra features like EPE, no fantasy here).

House Lannister declares war for MY wife's claim?

I was going about my business, petting my direwolf, extorting my vassals for wealth, so on- when we have our twelth mega war of the game (Viserys was really hated so there was one every like- 5 years of his reign). This is a claimant war rather than the usual push for less crown authority... a claimant war for MY WIFE. If she was married to the Lannister I would totally get it... but he is rebelling to basically make my heir the heir to the throne... I don't understand his motivation here. I mean I get people don't like the king much (he's actually Viserys' second son- he usurped but his older brother was a pushover) but declaring war for his older sister married into another house is just super weird.

Turned my heir into a Jon Snowlike character

I schemed for like thirty years just to make this lad (my character is not pictured, but he's the current Lord of the Reach and Mace Tyrell's grandson). Viserys hatched three dragons and as a Targaryen simp in this game I gladly assisted them in the ensuing war (and the like six liberation wars, because everyone hates the king lmao). One of Mace's younger sons was designated as heir and betrothed to Sansa (my character, her son, has a direwolf as well).

Rhaena is Viserys and Daenerys' firstborn and was heir for 9 years until her little brother was born, given the age difference and her having a younger sister I graciously took her off Viserys' hands, marrying her to my grandson (Mace literally died heading back to Highgarden to set up the wedding, RIP) and immediately gave the result of this union a dragon egg. I had to wait until Mace's son died to actually tame direwolves, though- managing to sneak both an adult and a pup from Karhold to Highgarden (I had to cheat a bit there because none of the wild wolf packs were giving me an option to tame one and I encountered thema lot!).

Like mother like daughter

Okay so most of my game has been focused on building up Highgarden and my personal territories, as well as supporting the Targaryen Restoration (Mace the Ace). I negotiated a ton of benefits through coronations, Robert died as Joffrey was in the womb so his brother, Stannis, became king rather than his 'son'. I forgot about Cersei afterwards, but it seems she married the second son of the Masseys. I look over and see a whole brood of likely Lannister incest bastards, including Myrcella and Tommen 'Massey'... and then I see Cersei is dead...

FROM GIVING BIRTH TO A DWARF.

If that ain't poetic I dunno what is. I suppose incest does come with flaws after all (don't tell that to King Vizzy who is marrying his sister next year, it's probably fine... wish he was marrying Marge instead but what can you do... at least I'm vibing as hand of the king and we repelled Faegon!)

Bobby, why would you host it THERE?

Coronation AI is a little weird. When I first started this playthrough (Mace the Ace btw) Bobby actually hosted it at the Hightower, which I thought was strange... then I had to restart because a mod was acting up and he chooses a SIGNIFICANTLY WORSE coronation site. He decided to host it in the dregs of Kings Landing... host it ANYWHERE else big man- host it in Pyke before FLEA BOTTOM. Heck, Coronate in Cobbler’s Square or Hookmarket, those are marginal improvements at least!!!

Can I savescum as Dorne for lore accuracy?

Trying the conquest mod as the Martells... can I savescum for lore accuracy? Cause uh... scorpions have a statistics thing and all... I get 40 automatically but I'm pumping those numbers up for obvious reasons.

Like a good neighbor, the Braavosi pirate helps out the Westerosi monarchy and their... lack of genetic diversity

Because Maekar refused to die for 15 years, he most likely forced Aegon to set up a marriage he is firmly against... so I'll help the poor man out and diversify the genepool. I am such a good lustful, greedy, callous, wrathful pirate, going out of my way to help the neighbors by smashing their princesses, not for any agenda (I am literally just going to be a landless pirate, no dragons, no scheming to use secrets), but just because it's possible.

I love when a Tourney insult is accurate... I really HAVE done his sister!

...I lost the duel despite having 73 prowess... (I didn't even cheat to get that many kids btw, my previous character legitimately just had 19 children among his 4 wives... and 1 bastard)

Jorah WHY?! That was my kill... oooh shiny -WAIT WHAT ARE YOU WEARING!!!

I totally forgot to move Robert to the actual war (I still have another month sieging gulltown lmao) so this battle was actually Stannis' victory. I guess Jorah can't pursue the princess who doesn't exist yet if he slaughtered her brother, lol.

Ah well, I may not have killed him, but I did get a very nice sword. This is what the Rowans deserve for supporting madmen!

...and then I go a few days forward and as I review the battle I see... uh... THAT- He actually robbed this man's corpse LMAO. At least I stole from a living man.
