A question about UTI risk in intact male infants

I am pregnant with a baby boy and we are leaning towards not circumcising. This is new territory for us as husband is circumcised. I see that intact baby boys are at higher risk for UTIs in the first year. Is this something that is remarkably common and is there anything to help prevent besides frequent diaper changes? Are symptoms hard to spot in babies? We have a toddler daughter but she’s never had one. I had a few as a kid but when I was old enough to tell my mom that it really burned when I peed.

Trouble getting through to 3 year old

Hello all!

I’m a coteacher in a 3s classroom and we have a little guy who is very influential. Unfortunately, he isn’t the best influence yet and we see a lot more behaviors when playing with friends and increased bad behaviors of the friends (especially preferred friends).

He is very good at independent play and we see less negative behaviors when he plays alone!

One thing that we’ve been struggling with is that all of our 3s, except for him, respond really well to being pulled aside for a time-in (like time-out/removal but with a teacher talking through the bad choice made, for those of you not familiar) but he just stares off into space like he’s in another world. We have noticed a lot of spaciness (not uncommon among the boys in our close) with him but he’s pretty typical on milestones. He’s very smart and also very stubborn. Mom is a SPED teacher in the local school district and she has similar issues at home (he’ll decide he’s not potty trained anymore and refuse to go in the potty for a week, he’ll hit brother and she doesn’t know how to address behavior because he’s so apathetic to it).

We thought he might do well with more praise and attention when he’s making good choices but we haven’t been successful with that either. It feels like he’s not really motivated by anything.

I was hoping to see if anyone had any advice because he’s really regressed in behavior in the past two months and there haven’t been any major changes in his life besides mom being home for the summer while he’s at daycare (older brother also comes to daycare and was a much “easier” 3 year old). He is starting to get more aggressive with others as well so we’d really like to nip that in the bud but if we remove him from play he just sits and finds pieces of dust on the floor to play with or stares into space (whereas our other kids would be sad or angry or bored).

Help us with a name for our son!

Hello!

Husband and I are having our second child (a son!) in December.

Our first child is Cora Ruth. She is a spicy red headed toddler but also really sweet and fun 😂

Some names we like are Owen, Milo, Cian, Keegan, Rory, and Patrick.

We like the softer sounding names and a lot of them are Irish! (Husband’s family is Irish and we have an Irish last name that has been Americanized and starts with B, two syllables).

Please give us thoughts on our names and whether you have a favorite or have others to suggest!

Husband is a redhead and I am a dark blonde that was strawberry blonde as a kid so I’d imagine this baby will also have at least some red in their hair!
