Single dad with full custody of two boys, looking for people to talk with

Like many of you, I (39m) prioritize my two kiddos but still want some kind of connection with people. I'm with them all the time and will be traveling to Japan in the summer for a month! But before we get there, I have down time at night and I just want to get to know people like in the 90s.

I have messenger, discord and I found out you can message here. I'd definitely want some lasting friendships for sure. I sometimes play games at 9:30 pm to 11pm.

Just a bit about my situation. I'm with the kids majority of the time and their mom stays with my oldest for an hour then she drops them off home from school (she teaches but treats them as trophy kids). I've been working on myself before even thinking about dating. I went from 240lbs to 205 (I got to be my best before I give someone else my time and for the kids of course) my goal is to be 180 - 190.

Not sure if I'm doing the whole Reddit thing right but happy to meet everyone and hang in there! We are single parents because life knew we can handle that weight!

Edit: just wanted to say I'll make a discord for us single parents. Your time may not align with my time 100% but maybe it'll align with other single parents here too. I feel relieved that I'm not the only one who feels like I'm in a quiet spot after the kids are gone or sleeping. Thank you for everyone who reach out and you can always continue to reach out to me!

Extreme honesty. How difficult is it for a man with 2 kids to get matched

I (38m) think I got height going for me and I'm always up front. I'm 6ft, Asian but I also got two kids which I love the most but hoping to find someone who I can also love along with them.

I feel given my situation

2 kids with full custody (they are with me majority of the time and their mom only sees them for an hour and two and leaves to her new life)
And their mom is in their life (amicable divorce)

It does feel extremely difficult

A little back ground. Built a very successful life to the point where I own my house, have a decent retirement and was traveling domestic and international twice a year. Ex decided it wasn't enough at 17 years and called its quits going to someone else. When I found out the cheating was going on, I instantly protected my kids but also understood every child needs a mom. So we got a very calm divorce but I feel I deserve a bit of love too after years of sacrifice.

Do women even look at single dads or should I try my luck locally and just put myself out there?

Thanks Reddit (for what it's worth, I'm just a very calm logical person)

Edit: After reading some of the replies, I appreciate the honesty coming from multiple people. It's nice to read both reaffirming and different situation (as it should be)

Edit 2: thank you all for your honesty and feedback. Being open and accepting is part of the healthy journey and I'm going to continue the live life to the fullest. I love the Reddit community so I just want to say thank you all again!

Edit 3: thank you all for the replies, I'm going to stop replying but it's been great listening to everyone's opinions, real life stories and how everyone over came it.
