Endless cycle

My brother, who's 30 years old is in a constant cycle of leaving the house for a few months then coming back to terrorise everyone. I live with my 2 other siblings + my parents and he really ruins everything when he comes by. I’m currently 18 years old and he’s been doing this ever since i was about 14 or so.

He verbally abuses my parents and uses my mum and dumps all his emotional baggage onto my mum so she feels bad for him. Since he doesn’t have a job he was living in a homeless shelter but then got kicked out because he didn’t follow the curfew.

Ive been telling my parents that he shouldn’t be allowed to come back in the house because he’ll never learn to be independent. they say that they’ll talk to him but that’s what they always say. anytime they try to talk to him he shouts and tells them how horrible they are as parents (and sometimes calls the police on them) which is so mentally exhausting for them.

Last year my mum completely broke down sobbing because she couldn’t handle him anymore which was really hard to see.

He refuses to grow up and my parents are letting him become a slob. They say “he’s family“ but I don’t see him as one. all of my siblings see him as a stranger not a brother. To be honest he’s just a horrible son. I know kicking him out is hard but the mental turmoil he brings is just not worth it.

He doesn’t want to change and I’m tired of him coming to the house. His voice makes me want to cry. No one is listening to me and it hurts. He's starting the cycle again and I know it’s gonna get worse. I’m so scared for the future and I don’t know how to cope anymore. I’ve been dealing with this my whole life and i just want to go home to a peaceful house. Seeing him ruins my day and all I can do is cry in my room while he abuses my parents.

I just needed to get this out of my chest so sorry if this post doesn’t really make sense… just trying to seek comfort lol. I just hate living with him.

Cartoons in Australia

Dude I just realised when Bluey ends there’s gonna be no other cartoon that shows Australian culture like Bluey does. Growing up in australia all our cartoon media was imported from the uk, us, and canada and the cartoons that were Australian weren’t trying to pander to an aussie audience. I mean I could name so many cartoons of an american high school but there’s literally NO cartoons of an australian high school or even primary school.

Australia isn’t incentivising for creators to make such shows because it’s SO HARD to get into the market but I really do think having more cartoons that represents aussie culture should be pushed more. Fun fact Smiling Friends WASNT EVEN AVAILABLE ON ANY STREAMING PLATFORM IN AUSTRALIA UNTIL THIS YEAR (you would have to rent for it) The dude is aussie why does it have to be so hard for Australians to even get content MADE BY AUSSIES.

Bluey is a step in the right direction but we need more.

If anyone in Australia is reading this what’s your thought on the lack of australian cartoon media? and do you find it important for people to create more media that panders to an aussie audience like bluey?

(EDIT)

Yes i know there’s good aussie cartoon shows out there but when you compare it to other places it’s very little. Ever since the abolishment of austrailan made TV quotas kids today aren't consuming the aussie content that we have. No quotas = less incentive to make more. please reframe from saying “we have x and y show!” because that’s not the argument i’m trying to make. What I’m trying to say is that aussie made media(ANIMATION) should be more prioritised.
