We are driving to tasch, parking in the parking structure and then taking the tram to Zermont, then up on the Gornergrat and staying over night at the Gornergrat hotel. Would it be safe to leave our luggage in the car overnight?

I am booking my first European train, a ticket on OBB from salzburg to Geneva and there is one train change in Zurich. It has a short 12 minute train change from platform 12 to platform 13. I understand if you miss your connection you have to buy another ticket. I don't see a way to make train changes longer. Am I crazy to book this ticket? Thank you fot your help.
