This site came up and brought back memories. It seems about the same time I stopped reading I had kids. But I do deliveries and started audio books. There is a difference if you are like me. Reading a book you are the main character but an audio only sometimes. Finished two Zane Gray, John Bunyan and 3 shorts of Lois L'Amour.
Only a few chapters away from finishing the Bible but I know the end of the story already.
Sad to see a louis LAmour fans collection at the thrift store.

When Tyrell Sackett shot Long Higgins, Long had just shot an innocent bystander while attempting to murder an unarmed man.
Tyrell shot him *after* giving him a chance to surrender while Long was attempting to shoot him. In front of a dozen witnesses.
There's not a Jury in the world (excepting California or New York) that would have convicted him.
Why did he run?
In the beginning of the story, Blaine shows up at the bank and presents papers to Mr. Otten proving he is the new manager of the 46 connected. After examining the papers, dated several weeks earlier, he comes to the Conclusion that Joe Neal is alive. Why? Given the papers dates, Neal could have still been killed in the last few days, and having papers signed weeks prior would not change that assumption? Am I missing something?
