Nature is amazing! Please read the post! 😊

Nature is amazing!! My husband and I were cleaning out the birdhouses we have and planning to take down the one we have that's in bad shape. To our surprise we found a bluebird egg in the bad birdhouse -no nest, nothing just a freshly laid egg lol. We moved it to the Birdfy Nest Duo birdhouse with the old nest from the last clutch (we cleaned the house of all fecal sacs etc) and wondered if the Papa and Mama Blue would figure out where their new egg was.

WELL apparently they knew exactly where it was because Mama went in and laid another egg this morning!!! Maybe we will have more babies soon. I just hope this heatwave breaks a little. It's hard work monitoring newborn babies during a heatwave in South Carolina! 😁😁😁😁

Mama and Papa are still feeding the babies that fledged last week! Do we think we will have more babies? This will be their third brood!

For anyone who's been following along with my Bluebird babies - they fledged and unfortunately the Nest Duo didn't catch any of them leaving the nest.

I'm disappointed but still grateful I got to experience seeing the parents build the nest, lay eggs, babies hatching and being a part of raising them. 💙 fly safe Daffodil, Lemon and Lucky 🩵

If anyone was wondering why the camera didn't catch them leaving it's because they hang nervously and timidly out of the entrance hole and the camera cuts off RIGHT as they are leaving the nest. I implore Birdfy to look into this and at least allow the Birdfy Nests to record videos over a minute long!

It makes me feel so good when I put out live mealworms and then I get to watch Papa and Mama Blue snatch them and feed them to their 3 babies! 🩵

I also observed something super interesting...I was outside about an hour ago putting out the last of the mealworms out for the night and I saw 3 bluebirds- 1 female and 2 males. They all grabbed mealworms and then took turns feeding the babies!!

Tell me, is it normal for 3 adults to be feeding and caring for newborn bluebird babies? I'd love to know! 💙

Babies are stressful! I was at work and saw the Nest Duo was at 109 degrees. I raced home and put ice on top of the house. That helped cool it down a little- my husband helped me put our huge patio umbrella over the nest. The temp is down to 97 degrees thank god. All seems well💜
