Disappointed in Surfshark trying to listen to BBC Radio, Windscribe works

I used to live in the UK, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the BBC, esp. Radio 4, which I listen to all day long; up until a year ago or so, that wasn't a problem and I didn't even need a VPN; then they changed things and it is no longer possible to listen to the BBC live via the internet, and only certain programs are available on demand. So, I got Surfshark to get around this issue - it sounded like a good VPN when I did my research, but alas, half of the time it isn't working for me - when I try to listen to the BBC, I get the dreaded "It looks like you're outside of the UK" screen. Which I don't understand if I'm on a UK server?? I currently use the free Windscribe VPN for this, and that works fine with no issues, so I wish I had signed up for the paid version of Windscribe instead of Surfshark instead. Windscribe gives you a certain amount of time for free, and you can only access certain servers on the free version, but that has been working just fine for me so far. I may bite the bullet and sign up for the paid version of Windscribe next time there is a special offer, even I resent paying for two VPN services at the same time!!

Haven't really noticed anything on 1mg/week.....How many of you have managed to stay on a very low dose?

I was so hopeful that I'd be able to achieve what I wanted on 1mg/week, but after taking my third shot last Saturday and not noticing ANYTHING, I decided to increase my dose slightly and shorten the interval...I just took about 1.2 / 1.25 (hard to measure precisely) mg and one day early....Let's see what happens. I'd love to know how many microdosers have actually managed to stay on their initial low dose? I guess I was a little overoptimistic (but I also have to be honest and admit that I didn't really change much about my eating and drinking routines....I felt that it initially helped with portion control and snacking, but last week felt like before I started....On a positive note, I also didnt' experience any unwanted side effects :)

Best store to get contact lens fitting?

I used to be an avid contacts wearer, until I got Lasik about 25 years ago; I thought / hoped that would be the end of me needing vision correction, but at 56, I now of course have presbyopia - and I'm not happy about it LOL. Anyway, I'm now thinking about starting to use contacts again (prob. only at work, since reading things on the monitor is getting difficult, and I would much rather NOT wear glasses!!). I had a couple of comprehensive eye exams very recently and naively thought I could use that prescription for contacts but found out that that's not possible, or at least not a good idea - so lesson learned!

I tried a monovision lens in one eye, which does help me read things on the screen, but I overall really don't care for the experience - it's just too odd to only see clearly in the distance with one eye - so I'm considering trying multifocals....I know those aren't easy to get used to, and I wish I could just try one before I invest even more money into the exam etc., but I guess that won't be possible, so I'm wondering where I can get a good contact lens fitting that is reliable and doesn't break the bank. I think Costco is around $120 - is that the best price available, or do other chain stores offer more competitive options? Thanks for any recommendations !

So I started this "journey" a little over two weeks ago, and I wasn't smart enough to get good starting measurements - I think I was a little afraid of stepping on the scales as I felt I had recently let myself go and put on some unnecessary (isn't it always?) weight. Which of course was a bit dumb, since it would have been good to know starting weight and inches! But be that as it may, I do now want to start tracking a bit....I have two older scales that allegedly also show things like body fat etc., but I don't trust either of them as they show VASTLY different numbers!! Like, literally, side by side the one says my BF is 30%, while the other one says 18% (which of course is ludicrous, I don't think I was EVER at 18% BF, even when I was younger - I wish!!). They also show a difference of about 5lbs. Needless to say, they are crap! I'm willing to invest a little - are there ANY smart scales that really show reliable numbers??? Thanks for your recommendations!

So everyone is talking about getting rid of inflammation, and that was also one of my biggest motivators to try this - I'm 56 and have arthritis in various places!! Damn you, Aging!! But how can you tell when it's going away? I always read "I've lost probably 5lbs in inflammation only" - what shape does that take?? I mean, inflammation isn't something "tangible" or measurable......I just took my third injection of 1mg yesterday, so it's been just a tad over 2 weeks for me since I started. Any insights appreciated! Oh, and it's Tirz.

I recently had not just one, but TWO full eye exams for different reasons, and I also got a new refraction/ prescription (that I always have to pay for out of pocket since insurance doesn't cover it, strangely). Now I'm looking into going back to wearing contacts at work- I have very good distance vision (had Lasik many moons ago), but at 56, I have presbyopia and that makes it hard to decipher things at work. I HATE glasses and would love to see if multifocals work for me- I'm currently trialing a monovision lens, and it does help but is also weird and not ideal...I initially loved the idea of only having to wear contacts in one eye, but when I started wearing the single lens, I realized that it actually really helps with my super dry eyes- the eye WITHOUT the lens constantly feels gritty, whereas the one WITH the lens feels much better! Who would have thunk, right?? I'm guessing it's to do with the lens doing a better job of conserving moisture than my eyes on their own, so I'm really considering going back to wearing lenses in both eyes!

So here's my question: how can I obtain a trial multifocal lens without having to do YET another eye exam?? I know it's not ideal, but can I use my very recent prescription from the eye doctor to get lenses, or do I absolutely need another eye exam specifically for contacts? What online store would you recommend - I went to a Lenscrafter store yesterday and the employee told me they wouldn't sell any contacts to me without me seeing their own doctor....sounds a bit weird to me....

Had Lasik 25yrs ago, lived a happy, contacts free life ever since but now need help with age-related presbyopia....I just got one monovision lens that I've been wearing for a couple of times, and while it does help with seeing stuff up close, I don't like this option - it's just weird. I have almost perfect distance vision and wear progressive glasses at home for watching tv and looking at my laptop at the same time - I understand the closest to this when it comes to contacts would be multifocals? I'd like to give those a try - either in just one eye (like I do now with the monovision) or both, depending. I have some astigmatism in one eye, though - not sure how that would work? I'm reading that some people don't like multifocals, and before I commit to buying whole boxes, I'd really like to try them first. Do the actual physical stores give out trial lenses? I think my preference would be daily disposables, as I'd rather not have to deal with cleaning, storing etc. I also feel it's safer for my eyes, and since I wouldn't be needing them every day, cost isn't the biggest factor. Thanks for any input! Oh btw, I have very very dry eyes; the trial monovision one I was given actually makes my eye feel BETTER (maybe bc it stores moisture better than my eye does on its own?)

So here I am again, giving contacts another go - I'm 56 now, haven't worn them in about 25yrs after getting Lasik. But at my age, I now have Presbyopia and I REALLY don't want to wear glasses!! I've recently had a consult with an eye surgeon to see if I could possible have a lens replacement (with refractive lenses), but I'm not a candidate (very dry eyes, previous Lasik surgery, near-sighted...). She recommended trying a monovision lens in my non-dominant eye, and I just wore this for the first time yesterday! Getting the lens in my eye was easy peasy, like riding a bike - in all my decades of wearing contacts, that was never an issue and I could probably still do this in my sleep :) -and it did help at work, seeing stuff up close....but I overall don't love it and wouldn't want to do this long-term (replacing one lens surgically for up-close vision). However, I'm now thinking of giving multifocals a try - I'm hoping that if I can handle monovision contacts, as well as progressive glasses, I should be able to handle multifocal contacts as well! The other thing - which frankly AMAZED me - was that not only could my dry eyes handle the contact lens, but the eye I wore the lens in actually felt BETTER than the one without??? The eye without the contact felt gritty, like my eyes often do due to severe dryness - but the eye with the lens in it felt so much better!!! I told my husband about it, and I suppose it actually kinda makes sense, since my dry eye issues stem from my eyes not being able to hold the tear film - my tears evaporate too quickly, and maybe the lens is keeping it in place? This actually makes me want to wear contacts again - I had sworn to myself after I got Lasik that I would never, ever wear glasses OR contacts again, but age does catch up you and even worse than not seeing well is the CONSTANT dryness! So, maybe I can kill two birds with one stone? I could potentially wear those monovision lenses at work, but I'm thinking if I could find the right multifocals, AND they make my eyes feel better because of the moisture they retain, that would be a win-win!!! Sorry for this long text, but if you have any insights / recommendations, I would really appreciate it!
