A question for retainers 40 and above

I've heard many people say their cognitive abilities start declining around 40 — struggling to remember things, finding it harder to pick up new skills, low energy, that sort of thing.

But when I really probe into why, most of them point to life circumstances rather than age itself. It's less "I'm getting older" and more "life got heavier." Which makes me wonder how much of that decline is actually age-related, and how much comes down to years of seed expenditure draining their vitality. Because if retention actively increases a person's capacity, like it has for me, wouldn't a retainer at 40 be in a fundamentally better position than the average 40-year-old?

I'm 36 right now and honestly feel sharper than I've ever felt. I'm on a 7-month streak right now and have been doing this on and off for the past 6 years. I've never felt this strong, focused, alive, masculine, powerful, or physically robust — not even in my 20s, which was supposedly my physical prime. And retention is only part of it. I've completely turned my life around over the last six years in other ways too thanks to the foundation I got from retention.

So my question to retainers who are 40 and above : does it get as bad as people describe? The inability to learn new things, low adaptability, no energy? I understand total physical capacity naturally decreases with age, that's expected. But would retention make a meaningful difference in how that plays out?

Would love to hear from those who have actually lived it.

Why has fish become so expensive?

A few weeks ago I noticed fish prices shot up and they haven't come down since. Does anyone know what's behind this? Is it a supply issue, seasonal, or something else?

Didn't notice something like this is previous years.

What If Sri Lanka had uninterrupted 5 years to progress?

This thought came to my mind after finding out that some of the great products I use are SL made. They are medicines actually, when I bought them they were 2X cheaper than the Indian alternatives. But the packaging, the bottle design,  overall finishing touches, how much thought was given to it, the premium look. And I wondered how could this be for the half the price. Bcz they were made in SL. And one medicine said ‘thank you for believing in SL entrepreneurs’. I honestly felt proud. Not bcz of the 2500 year old dogma, but bcz someone from my team was actually doing something right.

So I was wondering, if SL had 5 years of stability without rocking the boat too much due to outside events and decent governance that is focused on building long lasting and stable systems, I think SL could reach a place that has good stability. But right now it seems like the opposite is going on bcz of these world wars and other stuff.

I thought of this after looking at a few SL made products and what’s SL capable of producing. What do you think?

I've heard SL tap water is clean enough to drink, but what about the pipes that transport it? Are they actually clean enough to make it safe?

The filter kits haven't been available in shops for months, and I heard Unilever isn't the agent anymore.

What's your solution? Have you switched to a different filter, or found another way to get the kits?

And if you don't use Pureit — how do you filter your water at home?

Kinda Dumb question i know. Went to cafe nuwara and it’s scorching hot. Buses passing by blaring their horns. Why is it not the norm to have AC in restaurants. Probably bcz of the expensive electricity bill. I wouldn’t mind paying more for the AC.
Can’t even talk properly bcz of the noice.
