Baby Boy Name Pronunciation - Cassien

Hello everyone. My husband and I are a French-American couple living in Ireland. We are so excited to be expecting baby #2. We have picked out a boy name, but we've been hearing different pronunciations that have left us confused and unsure.

The name is Cassien, pronounced Cass-i-en. However when we've mentioned the name to people they've sometimes pronounced it as Cash-en, which we don't like.

Is this an American vs Irish disagreement? How do people across Ireland (and maybe even the UK) say this name? Will it be considered weird or odd?

Thank you!

Is anyone following the 'no unreal creatures' rule?

Hello everyone. I'm a mom to a 2 year old who is in Montessori school, and we try to do Montessori at home as well. It is far from perfect, but it has overall worked well for our family.

One 'Montessori rule' we do not follow though is not having unreal creatures (or at least not until children are older). Our 2 year old loves Winnie the Pooh, and has several books that feature talking animals, dragons, mermaids, etc.

Am I in the minority that I don't follow this 'rule'? I wasn't worried about it until we were gifted a fairytale book recently and I realized that we were diverting from some basic Montessori principles. My husband loves fantasy, and I think overall it's harmless.

Does anyone have any words of wisdom about this? Does it make a positive or negative difference to include these 'unreal' creatures or not?

Thank you!

Books about Normandy but NOT WWII

Hello everyone. I'm looking for fiction books set in Normandy, France that are not focused on World War II. While I know that's a huge and important part of the history of this region, I can only read so many WW II books before I start to go a bit crazy.

I use the Kindle Unlimited app and I'd appreciate if you know of any books that fit the criteria. I'm open to both historical and modern fiction. I think it goes without saying but I would the books to be in English.

Names with Cas or Kas Sound

Serious post ahead. My husband and I really like the baby boy name Cassian, but have recently been devastated to learn that it is often pronounced CASH-EN instead of CASS-I-AN. The name has been ruined for us.

Now I'm looking for a name that does actually start with that C-A-S or K-A-S sound. While my husband suggested Caspian, the P in the middle of the name really throws me off.

We like Casimir, but don't love it. We would like a classic, timeless name that is not too popular (ideally outside the top 50 in both the US and UK). I'd appreciate your suggestions!

Help! Our boy name was just ruined...

Hello everyone. My husband and I found the name Cassian online months ago and we fell in love with it and have been planning to use it.

However we just discovered that people commonly pronounce the name Cash-en instead of Cass-e-en. We hate that pronunciation, but we know we cannot police it and we don't want our baby boy to have to correct it his whole life either. So now we have to come up with a new name!

We are looking for a strong, timeless name that will go with the sibling name Celia. Ideally it would also not be in the top 100 in popularity in the US or Ireland. Thank you all for your help!

EDIT: I really appreciate everyone's positivity and support. However the idea that it could be Cash-en has honestly ruined the name, so I'd appreciate some new ideas instead of just telling us to go with it.
