Ceramic Slicer

I made a slicer ceramic printing and it's free for the community and I'm hoping that some of you who have printers would be willing to give it a go.

ClayShaper.com

I think you might really like it. I'm planning on keeping it free with maybe recommended donation for more advanced features in the future. I also have a a local version in the works and a version that is completely client-side. What is currently posted has a a server server that I'm paying for so it might run a little slow more than one or two users. So if you do happen to try it. And you struggle with the speed letting me know in a DM and I can get you set up another way.

I also have a video that explains it a little better. I mostly made this just for myself but also because I saw a need for it as I've seen a lot of people struggling with getting printer set up and I think this could be something where you get a new printer and you're able to just start printing instantly. Plus there's the ability to add new profiles. So if any of you want your specific printer in the printer profiles just let me know and we can make that happen.

3D printing clay pass the "vibe" check?

Do 3D printed pieces not count as hand made? What if the creator makes the model and dips or paints the slip? Or makes a multi color clay? Is it not handmade until it's painted?

Here's a fun question: If I printed an available STL - say of an owl mug.. would it not be handmade? But I give it to my grandma and she paints it? is it only hand-painted? What if I designed the model - then is it "hand"made? or what if I carved it out of wood and scanned it? Does it change the conversation if the creator has a medical issue that doesn't allow them to work on the wheel but they make some amazing models using a space mouse or visually directed CAD?

Genuinely looking for acceptable terminology - I would never want to take anything away from anyone who feels like they've earned the right to label their art in a specific manner - so prior to gifting or sharing anything we make I want to make sure that I have some feedback from other creators - if I'm allowed to call myself that ;)

Genuine question and full transparency I took a class and I would consider myself meh at the wheel. I'm asking mostly because I've started printing pottery and want to see what the community thinks. I've seen so much interest from people outside of the pottery community but maybe 1/10 people who seem active on reddit and discord are extremely against it. Also I am very open to understanding different perspectives so genuinely looking on exploring all opinions and reasons for those opinions. I probably have only printed about 5-7 different models and only about to print a few of my own design - but we have some ideas and we've been experimenting. I'm not planning on selling anything so I won't be posting a link to my store or anything like that - only if you are interested I'll share pics of what I've printed but the goal of the post is to get community insight.
