If you are having trouble getting enough money for your pet. You can just accept every sale and not shoot the doppelgangers.
Their money is as good as human money is , you just have to survive the entity.

My First Emperor Victory.
Got my first Emperor Victory today. It was really hard esp since the only way I could catch up was basically by taking cities to compensate for their advantages. Which of course meant everyone hated me the whole time! Theodora almost won earlier with Culture, but I tricked her into going to war with 4 other civilizations with a trade which opened up the chance for me to snag her capital that had TWENTY ONE WONDERS! They even got Order as the world ideology earlier!
