I let plants tells me what the layout becomes

Over the last several months, my aquarium has slowly stopped feeling like something I'm building and started feeling like something I'm simply guiding. Plants have grown above the water, roots now hang into the tank, the fish weave through them, and every trim seems to start another cycle instead of bringing the tank to a "finished" state.

I've realized that nothing in here really stays the same. The emersed plants grow faster than the submerged ones, roots become hiding places, algae appears and disappears, and every pruning changes the balance again. It feels less like decorating an aquarium and more like tending a tiny flooded ecosystem.

I used to chase a perfect aquascape, but lately I've been enjoying the controlled chaos. Letting plants decide where they want to grow has made the tank feel more natural and alive than when I tried to keep everything neat.

Do you think aquariums are something to decorate until they're "finished," or are they more like gardens that are never truly complete? Are you more of a perfectionist aquascaper, or do you enjoy letting nature slowly take over?

Lately, the entire vibe has shifted. It feels like there’s been a massive influx of Indian Redditors, and a lot of the recent content feels like the sub is being treated as if it’s exclusively for that demographic.
