If you don’t want to read then TLDR: junior graphic designer role. 3 stage interview. 1st with recruiter, 2nd with senior designer and hiring manager, 3rd case study - 2 brochures and a presentation I had to present in person. They were very impressed and happy with me and my work. Was so sure I was going to get it. But got rejected.

Well, I was looking at jobs on LinkedIn the other day, and I see now that that same company has a new job posting looking for the same junior graphic designer position again. Part of me is tempted to email them to let them know I’m still available because I desperately need a job. But I’m also incredibly pissed off. I went through all that effort, so many hours working on that case study (during my birthday as well), only to get rejected. And now they put the job posting back!!!

Again, I’m here for another rant and maybe some advice. Thank you for listening to me.

EDIT: a lot of people keep saying that they think this is a ghost job. This is what I personally think may have happened. I think that the person they picked over me accepted their offer but then changed their mind. But it was too late to turn back to me as they had already rejected me. Which is why they are now looking for people again 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hi everyone. As the title says, I got rejected after a 3 stage interview for what I thought was the perfect job and I feel so sad and disappointed. Makes me not want to apply to jobs anymore.

For context, it was a junior graphic designer position.

This was the interview process:
- 1st interview with recruiter
- 2nd interview with senior graphic designer and hiring manager
- 3rd was a case study. Had to create two brochures for their company (using their brand guidelines), and a short presentation explaining my design choices. Had to present in person at their offices, and it took me an hour drive to get there. Only had a weekend to work on the case study (and it was my bday weekend).

This whole process I was so sure I would get the job. They seemed to really like me and they said they loved my portfolio and my work. And then I got rejected. All that for nothing. I felt so disappointed afterwards. Not in myself. I studied hard and worked hard for this job. But at the situation. Making someone do all that work for nothing.

I don’t even want to apply to jobs anymore man. I’m getting rejected left, right and centre. I hate it. But I need money.

Before anyone comments about the case study, I’m against them too. I think it’s shitty for companies to ask for them. But I was desperate and really need a job :/

I am genuinely so incredibly excited for petal. I love ‘hate that I made you love me’, and that already got me curious and excited when it came out. But after hearing petal this morning (videos of her singing it live at the concert), I’m EVEN MORE excited. I genuinely can’t wait, I might cry.

I think this album will be her finally stepping into the light and basically telling everyone to fuck off and leave her alone, and let her be whoever she wants. It seems like she’s done with everyone’s bs (good for her). The haters have been insane recently. She’s such an incredible person and artist, she doesn’t even deserve the hate.

I get some dangerous woman vibes from this album as well. Anyways, what’s everyone’s thoughts so far? What are you expecting from it? I don’t know what to expect but I’m 100% sure it will be fucking amazing.

as the title says, I (23F) feel constantly anxious even when I have no reason to or I’m not worrying about anything. It’s like my body is constantly in fight or flight. I get hot, always clenching my jaw, heart palpitations, etc. Two weeks ago I wasn’t feeling great and got dizzy, and I think that may have flared up my health anxiety (I have that as well), and ever since it’s like my body has been on high alert.

I’m sort of okay mentally, apart from slight worrying about my health that I’m trying my best to calm down and some OCD thoughts then and there, but my body is physically very anxious. And I’m constantly in an anxious state. The only thing that seems to help is listening to music but even that doesn’t work sometimes. I don’t know what to do anymore. Does anyone have any tips/advice as to how I can alleviate/better my anxiety? I miss being able to live freely and not feel scared all the time.

A bit of context: I am currently unemployed (which I feel pretty low about), find it hard to exercise (due to heart palpitations), and spend a lot of time indoors.

I miss this game man. I still have it downloaded on my phone. I like going on it every now and then just to feel the nostalgia.

What if we all signed a petition? And made a big social media movement where we post about how we want the game back? Maybe annoy glu with emails about the game everyday?

If anything, they should make more money off the game this time around since we’re all adults with adult money. So what’s stopping them 🤷🏻‍♀️

I got let go a few months ago from a marketing and graphic designer role. Now I see that same company making posters and their social media content with AI. I don’t care what they do but it’s honestly really sad but also hilarious. The posters are shit as well.

Honestly I just hate the use of ai in general. Stop being cheap and just pay for a graphic designer man.

EDIT: when i say i hate AI, i more mean the designs that it produces and the companies that replace graphic designers with AI. AI can have some pretty great tools and I know that. But it still kinda sucks tho

Hi everyone,

So I really want to go watch the new obsession movie but I have really bad anxiety and I’m not sure what to expect. I know it’s more creepy and unsettling rather than jump scare horror (which I dislike and am scared of most) and I’ve seen two short clips online (car scene and the very creepy facial expression), but I’m still worried about watching it.

Last time I watched a horror movie was about 6 years ago, and I wasn’t able to sleep without the lamp on for about a month after that. I do like horror movies, I think they’re really cool, but I’m definitely not a horror lover.

Anyways, do you have any advice? What should I expect? Is it really that terrifying and is it worth the watch even if it might trigger my anxiety?
