I'm making an ai notetaker on the board in link.

All the device does it takes pictures, records audio and searches for stuff by tags. The rest with the AI is processed on my pc once I get home and near my pc after I press sync on the device.

The screen should be coloured. Not e ink since it would make live image capture preview janky but because of the power of the processer it won't be a high frame rate.

The screen needs to be roughly the same size as the processor it could be larger. But I'd like it to look good and maybe in the future for the device to be sellable.

Plus it's supposed to be all small since my school does bag checks and I want to sneak it in. It's not to cheat. Id get caught anyway. Just for my lessons

Thanks for helping.

Ai notetakeing, studying, device to store notes and knowledge. Need help!!

Hey all — I'm starting GCSEs soon and wanted to build a small dedicated study device instead of using my phone (fewer distractions, offline-first). Aiming for something close to credit-card sized, since my school does random searches through bags to find phones, gum, vapes ect. It needs to be easy to conceal and hide.

Planned features:

Touchscreen home menu

AI chat (local LLM, offline)

OCR: photograph handwritten/printed notes → editable text, saved to device

Voice-to-notes: record lessons → transcribe → organized notes automatically

Modes: language translation, coding help, AI chat, voice-to-notes, image-to-notes, reminders, calculator, clock

Hardware plan:

Able to develop/test on the Raspberry Pi 400 I already own (could flash Pi OS Lite)

Final compact device will use a separate Pi Zero 2 W or Pi 4, whichever fits my budget

Small cheap touchscreen (credit-card-ish size, think same size as the Pi 4/5)

Camera + mic module

Rechargeable battery + charging circuit

Budget: £60–100 for the final standalone device (parts only I can 3d print and model on my pc)

Where I need advice:

Given the budget, is Pi Zero 2 W or Pi 4 the better call? (I know Zero 2 W is slower for AI but fits the budget better)

Best small offline STT (speech-to-text) library for lesson transcription — Whisper.cpp? Something lighter?

Cheap touchscreen recommendations that work well headless on Pi OS Lite (no desktop)

Anyone built something similar — what would you do differently? Is it possible on this hardware?

Comfortable with basic Python, first proper hardware project. Any pointers appreciated!

Converting norm glasses

Is there a way to use a worn object to turn any normal, non ai, non smart glasses, into smart glasses without adding bulky heavy 3d prints and circuit boards into the glasses.

Here is what I am thinking,

A circuit board would be inside a shell, that'd 3d printed to clip on to a shirt like those clip on mics, to the back of a hat, or anywhere on your clothes to process commands on.

Then a small earpiece that is comfy and not inside your ear would transmit what the processing board says so you can hear it,

Now we can play music, have voice controls to the ai. But now we need a display.

Something small, easy to look through as the user but hard to see as a bystander, to show information that the processing board is saying. It would be hard to add to normal glasses, if they wernt prescription we could just swap a lense and have a special set of lights above that refract through the lens and show a display through the eye, but what about prescription lenses, they can't be changed and some have a special making that lets it stop myopia/bad eyesight from getting worse. Any ways to do this?

We could have a small prism at the top of the eye that a tiny tiny small projector displays into it and then light refracts to have a display in the corner of the eye.

Question on 2 suits

I swim distance fly and in my earlier post I was told about mizunos. The swimsuit guy says that the neo sl is good for my event and give it a 10 out of 10 but I also like the mt which he gave a 7/10.

I am considering between the 6 cr, the Neo Sl and the Royal MT.

I'd like a suit that is compressive. Gives me a locked in feeling. While having a good fabric. And being flexible. And id like the best performance enhancements in my kick and body position possible.

I'm also a size 22 in UK arena Impulsos. So please recommend the size of mizuno to get.

Thanks!

I found an arc pulse style phone case for the 4 pro

here it is. i haven't printed it out yet but i hope to soon, if anyone else prints please tell me if its actually good or not,

if you dont like how it covers alot of the back of the phone here is one that covers less of it,

here is another model where it lets you put in the interchangeable lenses without the whole phone being covered by the universal cover.

these arnt my models and i havent printed any out yet, if anyone prints them please show me what they look like on your phone, id like to be told if they work well.

i just realised i said 4 pro, lol i was supposed to say 2 pro :(

I dont believe the phone 3 will release soon change my mind

the cmf phone 2 pro is still a solid phone and is similar to annother nothing phone that still is a great pick, also ppl said the phone would be out by now but no, no trailers NOTHING (he he get it?) abt the 3. We dont have a 2 anyway just a pro, therefore i think the phone 2 non pro will release and then the 3.
