Best ruleset for neuro divergent?

Hi,

I'm starting to see a bit of a raising of RolePlay as therapy or safe space for social practice for neuro divergence players.

What is the best ttrpg game design pillars for that ? DnD ? OSR ? DC20 ? Rules Lite ?

Not sure if this is the best sub to ask ?

Toriyama. D644439.

My crew has this information from their ship library data. As the Ref i have been dropping hints that they may want to visit for a few sessions, since they had a run in with a bunch of cultists building a compound in an asteroid belt a few parsecs away. They currently have the cult leader in a cryo pod.

While i do have a few things planned, such as medical tourism and tea ceremonies, I'm open to ideas to make things more interesting as TL12 biotechnology opens a few new opportunities.

...

...

Toriyama,

Star port D. Refuelling and Hull Repairs. High port orbital. Low port shared with intercontinental airport terminal.

Size & Gravity 6. Diameter 10,250km at 0.77g

Atmosphere 4, Thin. 0.7 bar. Tainted. Filter masks required.

Hydro sphere 42 % . Large Lakes, Seas, Small Ocean.

Population 4, estimated 66,000 mixed human and vargr. 60/40 split. Cohabitation cities.

Government 4, Ruling functions are performed by elected representatives.

Law level 3, military and energy weapons banned. Hand weapons by permit. Concealed carry class only. Blades recognised as items of honour.

-

Average Tech Level 9,

Ice Capped, Non Ag, Mineral Poor. Temperature range -20 to +20c.

While local communities are centred around Religious Institution for daily life the location within the sub sector does make a busy stopping point for starships between high population worlds

Well known specialists (.TL 12.) In Biotech.

The population is heavily Mixed Vargr & Humanity, although some fringe communities are primarily one or the other.

Most starship traders load and offload cargo or handle refueling from the high port station, leaving the planetary transport and eventual sale of goods to the locals.

Worlds where the gravity is 0.7 G or less (Size 6 or less) are low-gravity worlds. Common features include improbable-looking rock formations, thin and spindly life forms and flying as a common form of locomotion (assuming the atmosphere is thick enough to support flyers). Toriyama is no exception, muscle and electric solo and duel hang gliders are nearly as common as bicycles are for ground transportation.

Tainted. Off worlders may suffer allergic reactions on micro particles. Endurance check per exposure or per hour. 1d6 DMG + 3 per prior reaction. Sapping Endurance then Strength. All building have vestibule air curtains. Vargr find it pleasant.

Population, Governance, Culture.

On most worlds a population of 66,000 wouldn't even count as a large township, on some it could even be a rounding error. For Toriyama it is a matter of pride that all who make their home choose to be there. While the planet is officially ran by an elected council, in practice it is volunteers of older residences who do the day to day administration.

The culture is heavily dependent on science and arts. A Taoist mentally of perfection of self. Of focus and dedication of development. Deception is viewed as a personal failure and shame.

Sharing of food or drink is essential before even the simplest business is discussed. However large markets or gatherings are cultural discouraged as even public buildings are not designed for crowds.

Due to the measures needed to make survival less arduous process, biotechnology is a strong focus. Most of the local population is third or fourth generation gene splicers. Medical practice is custom genetic tailored. Redundancy of internal organs is common, as is the more noticeable scales or lengthened ears.

Recently a small cult was formed by 6 individuals. As they began to grow in number it was revealed that they were using genetics tailoring to override consent of self within new members. They were declared outlaw but escaped the planet before facing justice.

Toriyama has no System Defence Boats of it's own, although the sub sector Duke tends to have a patrol visit reasonable frequently.

Career switching into Teaching at a Trade School or Private RTO .

This seems like a fair place to ask, but if there is a better subredd please let me know.

TLDR : TAE40122, worth getting? any adult returning to study course to do first ? any RTO is Melbourne to avoid or try to get a spot at ?

Who Am I.

I'm over 40. I have been a network technician, a payables clerk, and a tradie. Each career switch was after 7-10 years in that industry. In every job I have ended up in mentoring roles. I now looking at another career switch.

The Bad.

I not the most bestest student. Most of my formal teacher likely remember me as the one that arrived on time or late, never early. Same was assignment, done on the day it's handed out or the day before it's due.

Had some medical assessments in the 90s. failed to meet enough criteria for any label. Modern criteria would likely put me in AuDHD. With three decades of coping skills.

The Good.

I can write. I have completed NaNoWriMo ( on 3rd attempt). I have written a couple of TTRPG module. I currently manage 3 different TTRPG games , 3-6 player tables, in different gaming systems. I can code. C++, HTML, Python, GODOT. I have taught a ADHD 7yo to read. I have taught an 80yo how to email.

The Worry.

Would I make a good teacher ? Is it as Hard and as Rewarding as it looks from outside ? Am I worried about the right things ?

I am the solo income on a 5 person household. Forever Renters. If i spend years getting the qualifications for teaching will it be stable hours, income and enough career ramp before retiring?
