First all , Thiruvalluvar is just a Honorary title , Not his name .

We don't even know anything about this person , We don't Know if thirukural was Written by a single person or A group of people, Historians believe He is a single person , yet No clear details to conclude in this .

People claim he belongs to that caste , This caste , but none knows anything and it is just based upon the suspicion, Yet no clear details on him

Then It was Compiled by Someone in the earliest

And the compilation of his work is called Kural pattu and we call it Thirukural by adding the honorary title ,

As per the Words of Mouth ( Orally passed ) stories , Someone had written a Kural pattu and left it to float in the River and someone who accidentally saw that realised the Value of the Kural pattu and preserved it , thus it was Transferred generations after Generations .
