Furan protected maleimide help
Howdy, I’m working on a project when I substitute a primary alkyl bromide with a furan protected maleimide. The general protocol is to react with heat in K2CO3. The problem is my SM has a carboxyllic acid on the other side of the molecule so SN2 of the carboxylate is competing with the protected maleimide. Thoughts on getting around this? Too acidic or basic conditions would destroy my maleimide.
