This show (Secret Life of the American Teenager) is classic camp that millenials kept on the air for 5 seasons. Did Taylor watch it? Likely, at least parts of it anyway. Does she remember the July 4 storyline? Who knows. She did choose to get married on July 3, thereby avoiding the more controversial date (according to the show) of July 4. The point is, this exists and the Gaylors have been fed. Taylor created this parasocial mess and she will never escape them.

Taylor wants so badly for Travis to not be an embarrassment, but he always will be. If they get married, her future with this man will include more days like this, hiding behind the umbrellas of shame.

Whether Taylor's playing a character or doing one of her PR personas, there's so much ACTING! going on. There's no subtlety. Her acting and public persona is like: I'm upset! I'm being creative! I'm being funny! I'm a feminist! I'm brave! I'm an activist! I'm in LOVE! Look at MEEE!!!
