Fixing septic leach field
Hey yall, we have two septic tanks, one for solid, one for liquids and a leach field. This systems age is unknown but so far there are no issues with the tanks (knock on wood). Two or three years ago we noticed a wet spot at the one end of the field and currently we have a full on effluent pond. I hate it. But every professional has said we must replace the entire field at a cost of $20-$50k we don’t have that kind of money floating around so the pond remains. Google said there are ways to fix it but professionals say no. Is this something we can do ourselves?
Edit to Answer a few question:
I’m located in Alberta, Canada. It’s pretty rural so any fix or replacement is going to be extremely costly.
Most companies just chatted with me about this issue, no one actually offered to investigate with a camera or jet the lines.
There is a solids and liquids tank. I believe the liquids is gray water and overflow. There are six lines about 20-25’ long. I haven’t exactly measured. Effluent pond sits at the end of one line.
