Feeling attacked!

Of course this shows up right after I order Saucony Endorphin Elite 3s for my half marathon at the end of the month… where I’ll be averaging 11-minute miles 😭😂

Achy Knees From Strength Training

I started running August 2025. I typically average 20-25 mpw. I’ll throw in strength training but it consists of 5-10 minutes of lower body work. Decided to commit to longer lower body workouts last week and I now have very achy knees. It hurts when I bend them. Also aches when I first start running but eventually goes away. Was it the strength training that might have caused this?

I am a Chief of Staff. I was a very successful frontline worker in the organization prior to becoming chief of staff. I knew I wanted to go into an executive facing role so to help standout from other candidates so I obtained advanced certifications and degrees. I always get Above Expectations or Exceeds for all of my mid year and end of year reviews. I also regularly get out of cycle bonuses (I never ask for these bonuses FYI). However the only additional feedback I get from leadership during reviews is to voice my opinion more due to my frontline background. My qualm with this is that every time without fail I propose something it is IMMEDIATELY shot down. A week or so later someone will propose same idea and it is immediately adopted. This does not personally affect me. I live a fulfilling life outside of work so it doesn’t impact my ego and if it’s an idea I am really pressed to get implemented I will propose it in a manner where it makes my AVP feel like the idea originated from him (without fail this always works). End result is that they have to specifically ask for my feedback during meetings and I just mirror whatever my executive says. But there’s been times where I do this and I’ve caught my executive rolling their eyes at my fake response.

What is the purpose of leadership repeatedly asking for my opinion if they ALWAYS shoot it down. Is it some sort of humiliation ritual? Jokes on them idgaf but curious as to the why behind it.
