I'm about to spend $100/month on ChatGPT Pro with $0 AI income. I'm giving it 30 days to pay for itself.

I'm seriously considering upgrading from Plus to the $100 Pro plan.

The uncomfortable part: I'm making $0 from AI right now.

So I don't want to call this an "investment" unless I can actually prove it.

I'm turning the first month into a public 30-day experiment.

Day 0: -$100

Day 30: I'll come back and post the receipts:

  • things shipped
  • workflows/agents built
  • hours saved
  • leads/opportunities created
  • actual revenue

My target is simple: create at least $100 of real economic value from the subscription.

And if I make $0, I'll post $0.

I'm putting this here partly so I can't quietly rationalize the purchase and forget about the experiment.

My little desk

For people paying for Pro out of your own pocket:

What would you do during those 30 days to make it pay for itself?

And what would need to happen for you to keep paying for month 2?

Thank you!!!!!

Vertical dark bands on a 2-month-old MacBook Pro M5 — display hardware issue?

Hi everyone,

I was using the ChatGPT app on my MacBook when I clicked the Pin button, and these vertical dark bands suddenly appeared across the built-in display.

At first, I assumed it was only a problem with the ChatGPT app. However:

The bands remained after restarting the MacBook.

They do not appear in screenshots taken on the Mac.

The issue affects the built-in display regardless of which app is open.

Because the bands are not captured in screenshots, I’m concerned that this may be a hardware issue involving the display panel, display controller, or internal display connection rather than a software-rendering problem.

MacBook details:

  • MacBook Pro 14-inch, M5
  • 16 GB memory
  • Approximately two months old
  • macOS Golden Gate 27.0 Beta, build 26A5388g

No drops, liquid damage, or unusual pressure on the display

Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Could the macOS beta still cause an issue that is visible on the physical screen but not captured in screenshots, or does this strongly suggest a display hardware failure?

Should I try reinstalling or downgrading macOS first, or contact Apple Support immediately while the machine is still under warranty?

Thanks for any advice.
