Anybody else worried about climate change clawing at our doosteps?
I read a report somewhere that Kerala has been seeing decline in average rainfall. Are people in Kerala who concern themselves with environmental issues actively thinking of the disaster at their doorstep? What do you think the outlook will be in the next 5 years? Despite the abundant forest cover as compared to North, is Kerala poised to suffer the effects of El Ninõ or tackle it before it wipes out lives on a large scale? Same concern about the water crisis. Just wanted to know your thoughts because the anxiety around climate etc has been gripping me a lot lately. Would love to know any pointers Keralites might be thinking of.
Kerala turned me into a (kinda) mural artist (sort of)
As a typical neurodivergent queer, I have found that the sense of novelty around creative activities gives me a dopamine boost like no other.

On a recent trip to Kerala, while staying at a hostel, I was doodling something related to the local scenes on a whiteboard. The hostel manager kept observing and then later asked me to paint a mural for them.

The brief? Paint something Kerala-related. This was probably the first time someone actually offered to showcase my knack for doodling random stuff.

The canvas? Holy cow! the biggest I have ever created on - a complete whitewashed wall outside a dormitory.

The idea? I don't necessarily follow a particular style. Just painting whatever mush is in my head.

Took me three days to finish this and honestly, the most liberating experience of my life, and the start of my hunger to do more. I actually did go on to paint more murals in other locations and looking forward to do more when I visit Kerala again.

Just want to express my gratitude for all that Kerala has to offer, including memories and inspiration that lasts.
Any advice for moving to Kerala?
Hi, Namaskaram,

I am 33 M, neurodivergent, gay, out to my family, working a remote digital marketing corporate job (which I don't know will sustain how long due to AI). I recently visited Kerala for a couple of weeks and would love to settle here (with a supportive queer community or, if I am lucky, a partner). I found that people were at least queer tolerant (thanks to education and an appreciative culture). Any queers in Kochi who can support me with suggestions and a guidethrough of the process? I wanna start with buying land (Under 10L) somewhere where it makes sense as a queer person who only knows korachu korachu malayalam. Would really appreciate any help because I am constantly dreading the way the economy and overall society is headed due to toxic politics and capitalistic colonialism across India. Is my decision sane or worth it (or more important, achievable?) Or do I have to have someone in the Gulf funding my dreams to be able to survive here?
