D100 Dungeon - Making it more RPable? - New Encounter Tables for World Builder Biomes
D100 dungeon has been my first step into Solo Play. I had done a bit of Pathfinder and D&D before and missed the story making that comes with DMing for other players, so I've been sort of improvising little stories for myself in dungeons and during World Builder activities. The Quests in the base game give some theme, and I've been supplementing using the Quest Builder, some other books like the Table Fables ones, and a bunch of online tables to give a bit more of a story and character journey.
Overall I've liked my time with the game; I think the structure it provides is really good for someone first getting into solo play, my only problem now is its starting to feel a bit too structured when I want to do something for the sake of a story thread or character goal. I've tried bending the rules a bit, pre-making a map for a world that I've built and theming quests with the quest builder based on that. I've made a new encounter list for all the different biomes too, I'll link it below if anyone wants it.
Wondered if anyone had any other ideas for D100 Dungeon specifically, or more general experience with breaking a games rules to fit your purpose?
Obviously I could always just play another game, I just get fun out of adapting and tweaking existing systems for some reason.
Looking at the sub rules I think I'm allowed to post this, this is intended as a tool being shared and a request for advice rather than a sellable set of rules or anything like that.
This wasn't really made with the intention of anybody but myself using it, but I thought I might as well share it anyway. Even if the balance and presentation are a mess someone can probably get some use out of it. While the stats are specifically for D100 Dungeon the general creature names and vibes could be used for any game with similar generic locations like Desert, Forest, Swamp etc.
