Hi everyone,

I recently got selected at Accenture as an AASE Engineer through off-campus hiring as a fresher. Currently, I’m undergoing the primers/training phase before onboarding.

I have a spine surgery scheduled for next week, and I’m confused about whether I should undergo the surgery now or wait until after officially joining Accenture so that I might get medical insurance coverage/benefits from the company.

The doctors said I would need to stay admitted in the hospital for around 1 week, and after recovery I should be able to return to normal activities and continue my work.

I wanted to ask seniors or people currently working at Accenture:

Does Accenture insurance cover pre-existing conditions or surgeries like this for freshers?

How long does it usually take for insurance benefits to become active after joining?

Would postponing the surgery be risky from a company/medical perspective?

If I undergo surgery now, would it affect onboarding/training in any way?

Has anyone faced a similar situation during onboarding/training?

I know health should be the first priority, but I also want to make a financially practical decision since surgery costs are high.

Any genuine suggestions or experiences would really help. Thanks in advance.

Did any of you guys who opted for pre onboarding assessment and completed hands-on+ viva got the joining date ? I completed my MCQ on 3rd April , hands-on on 10th April and viva on 17th April ,no update after that ,I choose python full stack stream
