I (21M) have been married to my wife (20F) for a hair over 2 years, together for nearly 5. I’m absolutely in love with her, we were each other’s first everything, and we bought our first house about a month ago. But about 2 and a half weeks ago her entire demeanor changed, like all the love she felt for me just vanished.
Shes said it’s because of my shortcomings in doing things around the house, and other emotional things I lack at in supporting her, and it was starting to pile up and build resentment, so for the past week and a half or so, I’ve started trying to do my best to help in those things with moderate success I feel like.
Today, she had a half day at work, and went to her friends place (who I don’t like btw). She paused her location for about 7 hours there. She comes in, tries to check my phone, and gets SUPER defensive when I try to check hers back, which is weird because before the past couple of weeks she’d never been like that. We have a super deep conversation, and she says in it she doesn’t know how to fix this and she wants a divorce. Technically we can’t divorce for another 2 months since we live in a new county I guess, so my plan was to be great the next 2 months and rejuvenate our love for each other. I’ve been super shaken up, and she was there to comfort me. Tonight she laid on my chest for the first time in a while, and me, super suspicious of her behavior, decided to go through her phone, found the above screenshots to one of her friends, and then immediately got up in a bolt of anxiety, waking her up.
She’s very mad at me for going through her phone, and her excuse for the screenshots are as follows
she turned her location off to go to the divorce place or wherever, and didn’t want me to know.
The fingering comment was just an inside joke about something she and her friends talked about last night.
Her friend acted shocked because well she’s kinda dumb I guess and she called her to explain the inside joke.
Now, I don’t believe her one bit, but I want her to be the mother of my future children. I genuinely can’t imagine my life without this woman. Is there any hope at all?
