[33/F] Snarky weight loss penpal

I’m looking to see if there is anyone out there interested in being snarky accountability gym/workout/weightloss pen pals?

I run 6x a week (roughly 50-75 miles a week) and weight lift 2-4x/week. I’ve been running on and off for 20 years, so I could talk about running all day if you let me.

At this point I’m trying to lose that last 5lbs, do a body recomposition to have more lean mass, and improve my race times.

I’d love to hear about your workouts, your progress, etc.

Would be fun to share funny and other related media with. I follow a bunch of fitness pages, and it would be cool to have someone interested in that sort of content to share things with.

Extra bonus points if you’re “unhinged” or slightly disordered, but not required.

[33/F] looking for a digital penpal

Wondering if there’s any interest?

I’m 33, primarily a mother to one toddler, farmer, small business owner, and a hobby distance runner (on and off for 20 years). I love cooking and smoking meats. Making wine and distilling moonshine whiskey etc. Lots of side hobbies not nearly enough time so my interests are wide and varied.

I raise cattle and horses but have lots of other animals I raise on the side too. While I’m not perfect I believe in raising and treating animals with the upmost respect and care.

I’m raw, and my humour is often dark as a coping mechanism to make it through my day to day. So it. Ight take a special kind of person to appreciate my snark.

My days are long, unpredictable, and kind of lonely. But you never know what the day will bring, and that’s kind of exciting.

Ground Beef Jerky Strips (with recipe)

Made some jerky from ground beef, since my pepperoni sticks are long gone.

Upon request, I wrote down the ingredients.

Below is the mix per 1 lbs beef:

2 tablespoon soy sauce
2 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon sweet chili sauce
2 tablespoons BBQ sauce
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon molasses
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon paprika

My son and husband complain about spicy BUT If you like it spicy add:

1 teaspoon red chilli flakes
or
1-1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

if you like it really spicy

*Smoke until done.*

I like 150-175F for 3-5 hours

Best to use as lean of beef as you can, but tbh if it’s too fatty, I just wipe the excess grease off with a paper towel before bagging. You could add cure if you’re so inclined, but it doesn’t last long enough to bother for me.

Adding because it keeps getting asked, I used a jerky canon to make the strips uniform. You could do it by hand, but F that.

Akbash upon request

This is for FocacciaHusband upon request for picture of my purebred Akbash that is employed as a guardian on my farm, and because I’m quite a proud mom.

I wish I could post video but here are some pictures for you. 💜

Old Indoor riding arena

Is there any way to update them? Or is it just a waste of time being that it’s so outdated to today’s design.

I’ve not seen many pictures of them online. Not sure if that’s just a preference for larger pole barn structures, or if these style are prone to having structural issues and tend to be torn down?

Pretty excited with the results, and even better I got to spend it with my husband and son (first time they’ve been able to come to a race :) ) in a city I’d never seen before.

I had not had the best training block; the weather was abhorrent where I live such that all but 3 runs were done on a very short indoor track, or on the treadmill (primarily). I had also thought my splits were much more inconsistent (especially since this was imo a very hilly course).

I fought really hard for the 3:17 even though my watch says I could theoretically do a 3:07. But I feel like I left some time on the course and I’m hoping to get another shot at it before summer hits and I’m too busy farming to focus on a training block.
