M23 Perth, Maybe I am just looking for the kind of connection I have been missing

I have rewritten this a few times because I honestly do not know the right way to say it.

I am an introvert and somewhere along the way I realised that I have become really lonely. I have people I talk to but I do not have that one person I can genuinely be myself with. Someone I can message at night about how my day went, share random thoughts with, laugh about stupid things with or talk to when life feels a little too heavy.

I would love to find a genuine female friend I can build that kind of comfort with. And before this gets misunderstood, I am not posting this looking for sex or anything sexual. I genuinely miss having an emotional connection with someone.

Sometimes I imagine how nice it would be to just spend time with someone, talk for hours, go for a walk, grab some food, watch something together or even just sit quietly without it feeling awkward.

And yes, sometimes a hug or a cuddle sounds really comforting too. Not because I expect anything from someone but because sometimes being held by someone you trust can make a difficult day feel a little less difficult.

I am not looking for someone to fix my life or become my therapist. I want to know about your life too. Your random stories, the things that make you happy, your bad days, your dreams, and the things you normally keep to yourself.

Maybe we start with a simple conversation and nothing comes from it. Or maybe we become really good friends.

Either way, I thought it was worth putting myself out there for once. Hoping to build a genuine friendship.

I never thought loneliness could hurt this much.

M23, I moved to Perth about a year ago, hoping to build a new life. But even after all this time, I still haven't found people I can truly call friends.

I am an introvert, so making connections has always been difficult for me. I talk to people, smile and have small conversations, but they never seem to become anything more. At the end of the day, I always come back to an empty room and my own thoughts.

Some days are okay but other days the loneliness feels so heavy. There are moments when I am stressed, overwhelmed or just emotionally exhausted and I realize there's no one I can call, no one to sit with, no one to simply ask, "Are you okay?"

The thing I miss the most isn't even going out or having fun. It's human warmth. I miss the feeling of a genuine hug. Sometimes I feel like if someone just held me for a minute without saying anything, I would probably break down and let out everything I have been carrying inside.

I know it might sound silly to some people but that's honestly how I feel. I never imagined that being in a new country could be this lonely.

I don't know why I am posting this. Maybe I just needed someone to hear me. If you have ever felt the same way, you're not alone.

Sometimes Being Alone Hurts More Than We Admit

Hi everyone,

This is probably something I wouldn't normally post because I am quite an introvert but lately I have been feeling the weight of being alone.

I have been living in Perth for a while now and despite being surrounded by people every day, I still haven't found my group or made close friends. I go to classes, come home and repeat the same routine. Some days are fine but on other days the silence feels a little too loud.

I enjoy travelling, watching movies, exploring new places and trying new experiences. The thing is, doing everything alone gets tiring after a while. Sometimes you see groups of friends laughing together, planning trips or simply sharing a meal and you realize how much you miss having people to share moments with.

I am not looking for hundreds of friends or a huge social circle. Just genuine people to talk to, hang out with and create some good memories with.

If you have ever felt the same way or if you are also looking for friends in Perth, feel free to reach out. Maybe we are all just strangers waiting to become friends.

Take care everyone. ❤️
