Are we crazy to take this trip with an 8 month old?

We have been invited to a wedding in Greece next year. Ideally we would go for 10-12 days and make a family vacation out of it. I am currently pregnant and we’d have an 8 month old at the time of the trip. (We are also first time parents.)

Are we crazy for considering this? It would involve either 1) 15-16 hours of flying, including a layover, and then a 3 hour drive to the venue (we would stay 2-3 nights after landing before the drive), or 2) a flight from the west coast to the east coast, stay the night there, then fly to main city plus the long drive, 3) a 12-ish hour flight to Europe, over night, then fly closer to the venue (90 minute drive).

We would also add in 1-2 other cities in Greece since it’s obviously a ton of travel for us to get there.

We may be able to have a family member come with us to watch baby while we’re at the wedding, but that’s also up in the air.

I know we also don’t know what “kind” of baby we will have, so one that sleeps well and is easy will obviously make a difference.

Thanks for any thoughts and tips.

Looking for best surgeon / hospital for enterocutaneous fistula repair

Title says it all -- I am looking for the best surgeons and/or hospitals who can help my Aunt with an enterocutaneous fistula repair. She is 69 years old and based in Los Angeles. Somewhere within CA would be ideal since right now she cannot travel by plane, but we are open if there's somewhere out of state that's excellent. She has been with Kaiser in Southern CA since the injury happened, which was the result of a perforated bowel NOT related to ulcerative colitis or crohn's. Given the importance of this surgery, we are exploring options outside of Kaiser.

Thank you for any/all inputs.

Graduated from clinic today!

Still doesn’t feel real, but we graduated at 8w2d.

We transferred a day 5, 5AA euploid embryo. First beta at 9dpt was 207, and then jumped to 498 at 11dpt.

Ultrasound at 6w2d showed yolk sac, fetal pole, and heartbeat of 113. Today at 8w2d baby had grown significantly and heart rate was 164.

Thanks for all the support. Best of luck to everyone!!

Nervous but hopeful!

Our first FET of a day 5, 3AA euploid ended in a chemical pregnancy.

We had our second a few weeks ago (fully medicated cycle with a day 5, 5AA euploid), and got a positive test 4 days past transfer. We were nervous given our previous chemical, but our betas our in and were finally feeling optimistic!

Beta 1 (9dpt): 207
Beta 2 (11dpt): 498

Fingers crossed this little guy sticks around!!

Long post, but looking for input!

My wife and I will be moving to LA in ~2 years. I am originally from LA (Culver area) and she is from Long Beach.

We cannot agree on what areas to explore / potentially buy in. Here is a laundry list of criteria:

  1. Open to renting for a year to confirm we like the area, then would be. Budget $2.5-3M.
  2. Needs to be LGBTQ friendly (same sex couple), but don’t need full WeHo vibes.
  3. Will have young kids (infant / toddler) and expect 3-4 kids.
  4. She wants a good, public elementary school within walking distance. Could probably go private for middle and high.
  5. She wants to be walking distance to things like restaurants, coffee shops, etc. Bonus points if the neighborhood is bikeable as well.
  6. We have previous lived in Silver Lake and loved it. That or Los Feliz feels pretty natural, however we are concerned about heat. She also loves the beach.
  7. Something like Studio City feels too far from both our families.
  8. Both work remotely so can be flexible on location.
  9. Our friends are on both the east and west sides.
  10. We do not like Mar Vista or Culver City.

Thanks for any thoughts!

Almost 33 year old doing IVF since I am in a same sex marriage. My first transfer of a day 5 3AA embryo ended in a chemical. It was devastating.

My doctor believes that maybe something was just wrong with the embryo, even though it was PGT-A tested. I am on a fully medicated protocol and the only adjustment she made was to add baby aspirin.

My next FET is on Friday 5/8. My lining was at 8mm over the weekend, so I imagine it will thicken a little more by Friday. We are transferring a tested day 5 5AA.

I was very relaxed heading into my first transfer and now am filled with anxiety and worry. Please share all good stories coming from your second FET, especially if the first ended in a chemical. Thank you all ♥️
